Interesting article on Psychology Today about how using statins can cause cognitive impairment, how it doesn't matter how much cholesterol you consume because your body makes it by itself, and it asserts that cholesterol has no effect on heart disease.      (www.psychologytoday.com)

Reminder to sharpen your lawnmower blade. original content     (DIY)

Shit's probably worse off than you think. Doing it is easy, no need to pay a place $80-$120 for the job. Most of you already know how it's done. For those who don't:

Pop it off(1), use a Dremel or flapper disk on your grinder. Dremel has a $10 plastic guide if you're not sure of angle. For the grinder, the quickest/easiest method, just follow the angle. Use a vice if you have one, or use a clamp or two on a bench or table.

You only need to get it sharper than a dull rock, so it makes good practice sharpening things if you don't already know how.

(1)If you're having issues with it spinning, use a breaker bar, crowbar, or stick to shove between the blade and the cutting deck near the spindle. It should be long enough to hit the ground when you have the mower propped up. To prop it up use something heavy on the handles or shove the handle under something nearer to the ground like a bumper or the edge of a trailer.

And while you're at it, check the spark plug and air filter.

Leaders around the world recklessly turned their citizens into lab-rats by signing this garbage.

The whole plandemic was a scam.

I had a ton of cherry tomatoes from my garden that I needed to do something with. I figured today would be a perfect day to make some spaghetti sauce and homemade noodles. When I went to the local grocery store my son works at to pick up the rest of the goods and told him the plan, the biggest smile emerged on his face (nothing better than making my son happy).

When I got home, I roasted the tomatoes with some olive oil garlic cloves, salt, pepper, and thyme.

When finished, I cooked down the tomatoes and garlic with some onion, oregano, basil, and of course, more thyme.
https://files.catbox.moe/ij305h.jpeg

I took an immersion blender to the mix and my “crushed tomatoes” were complete.

I browned a pound of beef and a half pound of pork with a large onion, added my crushed tomatoes, salt, two cups of water, a cup of tomato paste, and a dash of red pepper flakes and brown sugar. I let it simmer on low for three and a half hours.

In the interim, I made my noodles. I haven’t quite mastered these yet, but I’m getting better. I kneaded the dough for ten minutes, let it rest for 30, and used my pasta maker I inherited from my grandma. Cranked that baby out! \o

https://files.catbox.moe/cp3xjn.jpeg

I put the pasta noodles in for 1.5 minutes right before I was ready to serve.
https://files.catbox.moe/d24cwi.jpeg

I started this venture at 1pm and we just finished eating, but I made a ton of sauce and will have lots of leftovers that I will freeze. The noodles? I may have to used boxed next time, but the homemade are a million times better and tastier! My young man was extremely happy and so was I :)

How not to weld a fuel tank... No Darwin award today, Jesus died for his retardation.     (files.catbox.moe)

Fuel still in tank... can be OK. Grey zone.

No constant argon flow into the tank... can be OK if you put rags in every hole, never a plug or cap.

Welding on top (flat hand) with an obvious air pocket full of fumes & residue on the surface inside... complete & total retardation.

He's actually lucky it was at least half full, it limited the amount of fumes inside.

Recipe trick: Freezing then grating chilis     (Recipes)
submitted by NeedleStack to Recipes 3.7 years ago (+28/-1)

I learned this trick from a Gordon Ramsay recipe. You freeze a chili (jalapeno, serrano, whatever). It could take only half an hour depending on your freezer. Ours is the frost free kind and half an hour does it.

After your chili is frozen you grate it on a handheld cheese grater. Add the flakes to your recipe. It gives whatever you're making a nice kick but doesn't overwhelm it since the bits are so tiny and spread out through the dish.

I did this with the hamburger meat I prepared and it was great.

Pretty sure we nearly killed a few of them though.. we got them right before our trip to CO, and the soil it was shipped in was too dense for long term. She watered them before we left, but some varieties of lavender are pretty sensitive to wet feet.

Rat Feeding Study Shows ‘Impossible Burger’ May Not Be Safe to Eat     (needtoknow.news)

https://needtoknow.news/2022/09/rat-feeding-study-shows-impossible-burger-may-not-be-safe-to-eat/

The Impossible Burger is a plant-based burger, with a key ingredient of protein called soy leghemoglobin (SLH for short), derived from genetically modified (GM) yeast. It’s already being sold in restaurants and supermarkets in the US. However, the results of a rat feeding study commissioned by Impossible Foods and carried out with SLH suggest that the burger may not be safe to eat. Rats fed the GM yeast-derived SLH developed unexplained changes in weight gain, changes in the blood that can indicate the onset of inflammation or kidney disease, and possible signs of anemia. The he FDA issued a “no questions” letter which is not an assertion by the FDA that the food is safe, but that the company is responsible for the safety of the food. The FDA does not protect...

If you abide by and follow the new rules and file the paperwork for an SBR, you'll be incriminating yourself and handing them the evidence they need to prosecute you for a felony that they just made up out of thin air.

Please recall that this is the same regulatory agancy that said that a piece of string could be a machinegun and act as you think best.
