Suppose I want to build a computer with as few back doors as possible, but also as "fast" as possible.

At what point did computers stop being only your own property? I want to build one from right before then.

So given no IME and no UEFI; what models can you recommend? No I'm not going to be using it for gaming because I'm a real man. 486? 586? That's about when I stopped paying attention to computer hardware.

Thanks assholes.

This is some kind of fiber optic switching board for a server rack. I can't find any info from a Google search. I have been waiting for a call back from Fujitsu, but nada. If like to see if I can sell this, but I can't find any price info, or anything about it.

How the f..k do I turn off the PC with Windows 11?     (Computers)

Bought a new PC that runs Windows 11 and I can't find the "turn off" button so I'm turning off the computer via its little switch on the tower which is unusual in itself as all my other PCs only had start-up buttons on the tower. Thank you and may god save your queen.

I have never seen such in-depth reviews of computers before. This guy tackles every single metric and even has thermal maps. This is an autist’s paradise.

I'm thinking of buying this "Light Bulb Security Camera"     (emporiumhut.net)

I don't own a smart-phone and don't particularly want one but I will buy one if it means I can use this device but apparently I can still use the device by installing a TF Card.

So...do you think I've got it clear what's involved:

1. I use the device with a TF card purchased with the item.
2. I buy a TF adapter that enables me to transfer data on the TF card to my desktop PC via a USB cable.

Thanks

Annoying RGB Computer Hardware Issues?     (Computers)

While struggling to turn off all this RGB shit on my computer hardware, I finally came across this open source tool:

https://openrgb.org/

The manufacturer's software did not even work right. The linked tool turned off all the lights on my motherboard and video card without a hitch. It also has no bloatware and supposedly works cross platform. I highly recommend it if you cannot stand RGB and are having problems disabling the various faggot lights.

It seems (see link) I might have the "stripped down" (pared) version of Outlook where the function is not available? Any ideas?

Thoughts? I am maxing it out at 128GB. The case is still on the table. I have no interest in an external graphics card.

It was one of the search engines noted in the "how to harden Firefox" page.

Does anyone have any info, putting software onto my computer always makes me super nervous. Later, if I find out it was a Mossad Honeypot, I get even pissier.
