Looking at the obits earlier I see a good friend passed away. He was 72 years old.

A guy whom I've known for a long time and was the inspiration behind me getting into the underwater dive scene.

Paul was a construction carpenter, Welder, certified mariner and deep sea diver with proficiency in S.C.U.B.A. rebreather and hard helmet dive suit...and worked from dive bell platforms.

The proudest moment in his life, and to the envy of a lot of guys, was when he was hired by a U.S. firm to perform modifications to the Bell/AT&T line that spanned the straits of Mackinaw where Lake Huron dumps into Lake Michigan.

He was descending to a depth of 300ft in a dive suit in water temperature of 38°F. When he got to 250ft he lost all vision. Given that the 1st rule of diving is "never panic" he calmly relays back to surface re his loss of vision, the surface medic is a former military frogman and he tells Paul not to worry and that it's the nitrogen conversion in his blood stream (converting oxygen to nitrogen) which is typical. After 5minutes his vision comes back and he sees the cloud of light from his head lamp. He spent 2 20min sessions in 10hr days for 2 weeks performing those mods. The deepest I've been is 150ft in warm Caribbean waters and that doesn't compare to what guys like Paul have done in their dive career.

The pride of Paul's life was the 42ft yaught that he restored which he brought back from Chicago. It was formerly owned by Al Capone and it was used to float booze from an island close to here and over to Marquette Mi. The boats logs were incredible historical records in themselves, and it was Capone's order that the ship crew abstain from drinking until cargo was offloaded. He had incredible documents and they were compiled in a captain's library (sort of) on the boat. He would not allow any of those logs to leave the boat for fear of them not being returned.

That boat/ship blew up a decade ago because his buddy didn't allow sufficient purge time of fumes in the engine compartment...everything blew up and burned.

IT BROKE PAUL'S SPIRITS AND HE COULDN'T HIDE IT.

Many of us were hurting for Paul. To see how fast the spirit can leave someone, after everything they've accomplished and no one else could...it was hard on the few of us who watched his demoralizing march to his end...that end came 3days ago.

The world lost another great asset, another great White Man of Nordic lineage.

Noticed something very odd, not one chemtrail and it’s a beautifully sunny day. Everyone is outside all smiles. What’s going on, zogs fell asleep at the wheel? They take the weekend off? Too much solar radiation? Did god prevail over the satanists?

these numbers are fictitious and are based off my very limited understanding of the rage inducing bullshit i had to look up on how to setup a business in NYC.

Not that this would be surprising in any way, but i ruminated on this. Let's say you have a business making 1MM in revenue (1,000,000). For convenience we will say it has zero expenses, and this is the revenue split between two partners.

The tax breakdown is 21% federal tax on revenue. Right off the bat, 210,000 is pissed away to big daddy uncle sam. I tried looking up the breakdown for NYC taxes on businesses and the rules are so all over the place, i gave up. Some say you don't pay taxes over a million, but then you do if you make 10,000 in gross receipts. But it depends on the business, and fuck you for asking. And all this varies based on a bunch of bullshit factors beyond anyone's control.

For convenience, well say 90,000 is spent on NYC taxes, which is a conservative estimate when you factor in licensing, fees, brokerage issues, etc, who knows what other random fines and permits you need. So you are now up to 300,000.

Split two ways, 700,000 is 350,000 per person. Sound like a lot, right? But wait there's more! Since the LLC needs to pay social security 12% per person On top of this, you now have to pay self employment/LLC taxes, medicare, fica, etc. So we'll say another 10% right there off the top right there. Than you have NY income taxes, and NYC income taxes, or around 15%. Then you have personal income tax which in this case will be around 35% or even more.

In all on a million revenue split two ways, assuming you took standard deductions and stuff, you're looking at keeping 20% or so of your income after all the taxes and fees are budgeted. So from 1MM, the gov entities takes around 600,000, and you graciously get to keep around 400,000 split two ways. And on top of this, every asshole socialist moron in NYC would claim you're too privileged and need to get taxed more! And for any reason, no reason, or because they hate you, NYC can destroy your business with no prior notice.

Then these fucking morons wonder why no one wants to deal with this bullshit.
