The phrase is "vegetative electron microscopy" and it was created by scanning errors in the early names of scanning paper documents into computers. Most of the article is angst about the scientific literature getting corrupted.

Ancient altar found in Guatemala jungle apparently used for sacrifices, "especially of children," archaeologists say     (www.cbsnews.com)

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/tikal-altar-guatemala-jungle-used-sacrifices-mayan-teotihuacan-cultures/

An altar from the Teotihuacan culture, at the pre-Hispanic heart of what became Mexico, was discovered in Tikal National Park in Guatemala, the center of Mayan culture, demonstrating the interaction between the two societies, Guatemala’s Culture and Sports Ministry announced this week.

The enormous city-state of Tikal, whose towering temples still stand in the jungle, battled for centuries with the Kaanul dynasty for dominance of the Maya world.

Far to the north in Mexico, just outside present day Mexico City, Teotihuacan — “the city of the gods” or “the place where men become gods” — is best known for its twin Temples of the Sun and Moon. It was actually a large city that housed over 100,000 inhabitants and covered around 8 square miles.

The still mysterious city was one of the largest in the world at its peak between 100 B.C. and A.D. 750. But it was abandoned before the rise of the Aztecs in the 14th century.

Lorena Paiz, the archaeologist who led the discovery, said that the Teotihuacan altar was believed to have been used for sacrifices, “especially of children.”

“The remains of three children not older than 4 years were found on three sides of the altar,” Paiz told The Associated Press.

“The Teotihuacan were traders who traveled all over the country (Guatemala),” Paiz said.

https://www.zerohedge.com/technology/nvidia-announces-engines-worlds-ai-infrastructure-will-be-built-america-first-time

Nvidia outlined new initiatives aimed at strengthening America's chip manufacturing sector:

Nvidia is localizing AI chip and supercomputer manufacturing in the U.S. for the first time, partnering with TSMC, Foxconn, Wistron, Amkor, and SPIL.

Over 1 million square feet of manufacturing space has been commissioned for Blackwell chips and AI supercomputers in Arizona and Texas.

Mass production of these chips is expected within 12–15 months.
Total AI infrastructure by Nvidia could total $500 billion over the next four years.

it appears that china and taiwan are in trouble. btw, they are lying with the saying that they are bringing jobs back because most of these jobs will be done by robotica and AI

Front line news. Was in Arizona, made it @20 miles from the border. There was more border patrol than mexicans. Counted 8 white unmarked fed vehicals (all trucks) with 3 more on the road heading down. One dude and a dog out in the field, everyone else watching the show rom the road. Don't know what they were doing as was just driving by.

Next, flew out of Las Vegas yesterday. Was exactly 2 (two) protestors with a single cop car blinking lights on watching the 2, protesting at the Testa dealership. Saturday at 2:30 pm, perfect weather.

In the beginning, tech support on web was great. Now I see only pajeet names. They spend a lot of time in retarded greetings and are dumb and slow as fuck. Every time they say sorry, I have to check with my colleagues.

Once the pajeet was unable to solve the problem for a while, so he called the chief of staff, who had a White name. The problem was solved in 5 minutes. This is really crazy.

It's delicious. You want to drink it hard, fast, and in great quantities.

But they only give you a very small amount, in a pouch, with the world's smallest straw.

Fuck you, Capri Sun.

How do people use smartphones on the modern day internet?     (technology)

Got a new phone. It took like 3 days setting it up, way more time consuming than setting up a PC, but in the end I have a clean experience with no ads or bullshit. Full control. Just enough google malware and allowed connections to enable push notifications. But damn... to think people use these things how they come from the factory is insane.

Ads. litterally. everywhere.

You can't simply put a youtube video on and watch it. Because every few minutes an ad comes on and it STAYS ON THE SCREEN till you manually press a button to get back to the video, so waiting 30-60 seconds for the ad to end is pointless. You have to let the gods at google know you are there and physically touch your device to continue their feed of dopamine. Every 3-5 minutes. Forget multitasking or playing a video in the background.

It's everywhere, every app, every website non-stop. The amount of power and bandwidth spent sending in ads and sending out your data is criminal. Is it any better on Iphone? I doubt that. Apple fan boys are generally even worse because they're superficial. I'd take a rooted $100 Android over your $1000 iphone any day.

And most people put up with it. It's their every day experience. A new phone is like a used condom. Have some respect for yourself.

AI affirms replacement theology     (OccidentalEnclave)

Yes, while the early church believed the Jewish people were God's chosen people, their understanding of this chosenness evolved. Initially, the Jewish people were seen as God's chosen nation, but with the advent of Christianity, many Christian denominations adopted the belief that the Church, made up of believers from all nations, had now become God's chosen people.

Elaboration:

Early Church Perspective:

The early church, including those Jewish Christians who were part of it, generally accepted the idea that God had chosen the Jewish people as His special nation, as described in the Old Testament.

Shift in Understanding:

Over time, particularly as Christianity spread to Gentiles (non-Jews), a shift occurred in how "chosen people" was understood. Many Christian denominations began to believe that the Church, comprised of believers from all nations, was the new chosen people, fulfilling God's plan.

Replacement Theology:

This shift is often associated with the concept of replacement theology, which suggests that the Church has replaced Israel as God's chosen people.

Different Interpretations:

While some Christian denominations believe in the replacement theology, others continue to affirm that the Jewish people remain God's chosen people, albeit in a way that does not exclude the Church.

Continuing Jewish Identity:

Even within Christianity, there are groups like Messianic Judaism who maintain a strong Jewish identity while also believing in Jesus as the Messiah.
