It was so beautiful today. Just perfect weather. I took my Polaris General with my fam to the river. When we got there we noticed some people about 150 yards upriver from us. There were others downriver, as well. We had the perfect spot. I've been going there for decades. We set our chairs up and my wife threw together a picnic. We took some tubes and would walk up river a ways then tube down the rapids with my kids. It was a blast. The water was fucking cold on my old man balls. This river is cold even in July/August. So then the universe throws me something as it always does because it likes to fuck with me...
As I'm standing in the rapids a beer can flows by. Then another. Tranny Light cans. Every 10 minutes beer cans came by. I walk up river and strike up a convo with the people there. From NY visiting. They were obviously white but after our pleasantries I asked them if they were niggers. They looked at each other confused. I said the reason I'm asking is because you throw your beer cans in the river like a nigger and here we don't do shit like that because it looks like shit much like the rivers where your from. Take a look around; You aren in Gods country, one of the most beautiful places on Earth and you fucking throw tranny cans in our river like a goddamn nigger. WTF is wrong with you idiots. Took their pic and a pic of their UTV. Called the DNR and reported them. DNR agent calls me and I send him the pic and give location and he knows the area very well he said. They start packing up and I tell them at the very least they're getting a fucking littering ticket. I told them the DNR would be waiting at the road to the way out. DNR calls me later and tells me he arrested the driver for drunk driving and charged them all with littering. He had a rollback come and pick up their UTV. I thanked him and he thanked me. Fuck these scumbag pos. Don't come into my Heaven and take a shit.
Other than that, it was a glorious day. My wife said it and my kids said it. It was so peaceful and I feel better after bathing in the river and sitting in my chair and taking all the sights and sounds in. I think we all need to do that as much as we can because our bodies react to it. My skin feels so soft and my hair is silky. The dead skin came off my feet from walking around in the sand. It all came together really nice other than the scum encounter.
Oh, and when I got home I was putting everything up in the building and misplaced my GD UTV keys and looked everywhere for them for like 45 minutes. Finally found them on my bench in the building. Why I laid them down there I will never know. I never do that.
Put a 3" lift, new bigger tires, and removed the sway bar on this 2016 Polaris Ranger 900 6 seater. Thing is a beast. Took it up some crazy trails in this mountainous terrain.
Shit's probably worse off than you think. Doing it is easy, no need to pay a place $80-$120 for the job. Most of you already know how it's done. For those who don't:
Pop it off(1), use a Dremel or flapper disk on your grinder. Dremel has a $10 plastic guide if you're not sure of angle. For the grinder, the quickest/easiest method, just follow the angle. Use a vice if you have one, or use a clamp or two on a bench or table.
You only need to get it sharper than a dull rock, so it makes good practice sharpening things if you don't already know how.
(1)If you're having issues with it spinning, use a breaker bar, crowbar, or stick to shove between the blade and the cutting deck near the spindle. It should be long enough to hit the ground when you have the mower propped up. To prop it up use something heavy on the handles or shove the handle under something nearer to the ground like a bumper or the edge of a trailer.
And while you're at it, check the spark plug and air filter.
I was driving along on a residential street coming up on a 4 way stop, there's a car behind me, a car stopping across from me, and a car coming up to the intersection to my left. No big deal, I am downshifted into first gear and hitting the brakes. I pull in the clutch and give it more brakes to stop. when all of a sudden the bike is sliding sideways somehow,
what the fuck?
Its slipping out from underneath me. I put my feet down to catch it, and my fucking feet are sliding along with the bike and there is no grip, what the fuck, its slippery as wet ice all of a sudden, and next thing I know, the bike i layin on its side and so am I.
What the fuck?
I get up onto my feet and shut off the bike and go to pick it up and I notice the whole fucking area of the street there I am on is completely covered with fucking dirty oil and is slippery as can be.
I never noticed that coming up to the corner cause I was paying attention to the cars making sure they are going to stop and watching for danger from them. I should have been watching for the danger of the fucking oil.
Then I was pissed.
Then the guy who was behind be pulled up along side of me and asked me if I was ok. I told him, fucking oil, it all slipped out from under me, and he says I know, I saw that, are you allright?
And I was ok, and my bike stared up and got me home, I'm going to look at it in the morning in the daylight, but it looks like the back blinker thing got scratched, the mirror on the left handlebar got loosened but I was able to get that back in place. It's probably scratched too. And my footpeg is all bent. And there is something squeaking that wasn't squeaking before.
saw a typhoon in the Bering Sea one january. 55ft waves, 75 knot winds. minus 75 f windchill. I was 21 at the time and thought it was great. if I was there now Id be scared to death.
