Anyone know why a mysql query call to simply select count(*) would take 9 seconds for 2.3 million entries? (Linux)

I moved a db from a personal machine to a VPS, mariadb to mysql, and now -

select count(*) from table_name;

calls are taking like 9 seconds.

Also a lot of other calls that used to take like 0.5 seconds now take 10. They're all calls that are under an index...

Can anyone please tell do you know are there any settings that are likely to alleviate this? I'm finding it hard to believe just 2.5 million records are causing this much slow down just because it's a VPS (4 gb ram, 2 cpus, should be respectable enough hd access)?

Before this kids grew up as adults essentially.

The common denominator with kids growing up now libby, emotional, whiny, lispy etc is growing up with "content meant for kids". "meant for kids". What the fuck does that even mean? I am so fucking mind boggled that no one fucking gets this. I feel like like I'm 2 years into "covid" and I'm still the only person in HOME DEPOT without a mask. WTF I thought you guys knew what you were fucking doing.

Iowa was 51%/49% Trump again (wow that fucking 51% again eh). They NEED NEED NEED all of that 49% to colisend in to one candidate and they need it IMMEDIATELY.

So obviously they needed either Haley or Desantis to drop out IMMEDIATELY as they were both 23% equal. And right on queue it happens! Just what they needed against all other logical sense it happened!

Ie ask yourself. Why TF would Desantis drop out when he had equal footing with Haley right now if he was really running to win? Why wouldn't he wait to see who the VOTERS choose over AT LEAST the next few primaries to see if either he or haley topple. It's because the DS needs ALL the votes to go either Haley or Desantis RIGHT TF NOW.

And if you're "thinking" Desantis is just "clearing the way for Trump". Then why tf didn't he just stay in, absorb Haley votes until she had no pathway to winning THEN drop out?
