[BUG] Submission Sub Is Incorrect...     (TalkDev)

I am not sure that words are a good way to describe this. So, I took screenshots...

I made a submission (a poll, if that matters) in the /soapboxbanhammer sub - about midgets and parades, of course.

As you can see, it lists the sub as 'all'. The expected behavior is for it to show the proper sub, the sub where the thread was posted.

Now, it wasn't always like this. Here's an earlier submission that shows the correct sub in the appropriate places.

This is a fun one.

When you log in just right, it shows you a messaging inbox that doesn't belong to you.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open https://www.talk.lol/commentreplies
2. Wait. Wait long enough so that you're automatically logged out.
3. Refresh the https://www.talk.lol/commentreplies page (may not be necessary).
3a. It should show you nothing of value, just basically the top bar.
4. log in to your user account.

The following page is what is displayed:

As you can see, those are all comments left for someone who isn't me - and were left quite some time ago.

There don't appear to be any security implications. It's just weird.

I dunno what other steps can be used to recreate the bug, as I've not thrown much time at it. I only really started paying attention to it a couple of days ago. I haven't tried manually logging out or anything.

The Friday Night Guitar Thread didn't appear in 'all'...     (TalkDev)

(We tried pinging @system and @lord_nougat, to no avail.)

The first time we had the thread here, the thread did not appear in 'all' (or 'new', which I suppose I should use instead).

The second time we had the thread here, the thread appeared in 'all'/'new' just fine. There were no issues.

I made my large 'Banned from Poal' thread and it happily appeared in 'all'.

The third time we had the thread here, the thread did not appear in 'all' or in 'new'. It simply didn't show up in any location other than in the /guitar sub.

(Obviously, all these posts were submissions to the /guitar sub.)

Someone mentioned that it might have something to do with the thread being made a sticky/pinned thread. The three guitar thread submissions were all stickied, with all but one of them never reaching even 'new' or 'all'.

My thinking is to try not sticky-ing the next guitar thread to see if that does indeed make a difference but figured I'd ask here as someone else may have some thoughts on the matter.

Other than that, the mechanics/UX/UI are pretty horrible but we'll get used to it! We appreciate the new home and not being censored when we want to include 'talk.lol' in our text. Yeah, they're that petty on Poal. Though it was much easier to upvote everyone there!

Frankly, that's okay. I've been there long enough and if they have to make up lies to ban me then so be it. They claimed that was apologizing for pedophilia (which still wouldn't be against their rules).

As it turns out, you can not say anything!

I am not unhappy with this. In fact, we had more activity in this week's FNGT than we've had in a long time.

Hello and welcome to the FNGT! This one is hosted on Talk.lol so that we can actually have it. Poal is currently down due to a server change.

This is a temporary thing, though I only have one objective to moving to Talk.lol - and that's longevity. It's a pain in the ass to change to a new server and I don't want to bounce around and lose people, well more people, who just don't feel like dealing with the hassle.

Someone has my username. I'm told that was specifically prohibited, but here we are.

Many of the guitarists have joined here.

I am still on Poal.

The reason I am on Poal is because of longevity. I have no idea if this edition of Voat will have the longevity that I require for moving the thread here.

As such, I am officially asking if I need to fund this site.

I really don't want to, but I really want people to still have the guitar thread and it appears that the rest of you are too inept to start a guitar thread and keep it going on your own.

So, do I need to cover the expenses here to ensure longevity? Do I need to pay to keep the site running? If so, how much is it and to whom should I be paying it?
