they're literally sending your data to India, just begging for your account to be hacked

Coinbase's $400 million data breach was linked to an India-based employee of outsourcing firm TaskUs, who allegedly took photos of customer data for hackers. The breach impacted 69,461 users, exposing personal and financial information. Hackers demanded a $20 million Bitcoin ransom, which Coinbase refused. The company estimates remediation costs between $180 million and $400 million and has severed ties with implicated personnel while tightening security controls.

On Wednesday, January 17, 1934, there was a meeting of the leaders of the Hitler Youth in the Oberland 2nd district.

The purpose of the meeting was a call for "passive" or even "violent" resistance against all opposing Catholic youth movements.

It was declared that the actions recommended against the Catholic youth movements should not be ordered officially by the NSDAP but rather be a secret directive to be carried out.

The instructions for the actions to be taken against the Catholic youth movements were as follows:

Badges on clothing must be removed by any means, possibly by force.

Any unified appearance of Catholic youth is to be prevented or destroyed.

Any major undertakings by Catholic youth must be reported to the Ministry of the Interior, which has promised to protect the Bannführer in every way.

Every leader is forbidden to lead his Hitler youth into church. At most, he can say: 'If someone wants to go to church, he can do so.'"

The Hitler Youth naturally accepted the call to go on the attack against the Catholic youth movement and did not have to be asked twice.

The attacks began quickly, everywhere.

On April 26, 1934, Archbishop's Ordinariate of Munich reported the following attacks on the Catholic youth movements to the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior for the period from April 2 to 25:

Regensburg, Schliersee, Bad Reichenhall, Freilassing, Töging, Munich: St. Johann Baptist (twice), Neuhausen, St. Bonifaz (twice), St. Franziskus, St. Paul, Solln, St. Stefan, St. Rupert youth home on Berlepschstraße.

0n May 10, 1934, a prossession of the Catholic youth association from Oberaudorf and Kiefersfelden was "disrupted" by the Hitler Youth.

The following events took place....

At the entrance to Oberaudorf, SS men and Hitler Youths waited in a ditch and attacked the boys from the Catholic Youth Association who arrived on their bicycles.

In a rough and violent manner, they tore off the boys' blue shirts and christ symbols.

A rolled-up Catholic pennant was taken from one of their bicycles and dragged around in the dirt on the street.

When a truck arrived with 33 Catholic youth members, the SS men stopped it and took the blue shirts from the boys, while the league of German girls demanded the "White Rose" badge from the Catholic girls.

The SS then captured the second pennant.

In the evening, there was a joint victory celebration by the SS, Hitler Youth, and The League of German Girls, where they burnt the Catholic blue shirts and pennants.

The Catholic youth club in Wolfratshausen suffered a similar fate during an outing with a community mass.

30 Hitler youth members attacked the "Catholic youth dogs" and priest apprentices, beating them with their shoulder straps.

In Dorfen near Munich, not only were people threatened with a fence post, but the Hitler youth also destroyed the vicarage fence at night with an explosive device!

This caused the local priest to complain to the mayor.

In response to the priest's complaint, the mayor said helplessly:

"The problem is that you don't transfer the Catholic youth over to the Hitler Youth."

On a larger scale, acts of violence occurred against the Catholic youth of Berlin:

On Sunday, March 25, 1934, the Catholic youth leader of Greater Berlin called the Catholic youth to a meeting in Henningsdorf.

About 1,800 boys answered the call.

They were attacked by the Hitler Youth, and both their Catholic state insignia and about 150 church-sanctified banners and pennants were violently taken from them.

In addition to this "drilling" with shoulder straps and punches, the Hitler Youth tried to use kind words to "bring the Catholic youth to their senses" and persuade them to leave the catholic youth association and join the Hitler youth.

THE SIXTH GREAT POWER A History of One of the Greatest of All Banking Families, the House of Barings, 1762-1929. By Philip Ziegler. Illustrated. 430 pp. New York: Alfred A. Knopf. $29.95.

Surely Philip Ziegler is right in calling Barings of London ''one of the greatest'' of banking families; arguably he could have written ''the greatest.'' (His title, ''The Sixth Great Power,'' alludes to Cardinal Richelieu's 1818 statement: ''There are six great powers in Europe: England, France, Prussia, Austria, Russia and the Baring Brothers.'') Founded in 1762 as John and Francis Baring & Company, and originally serving principally as London agent for the Baring family's wool-and-dye business in Exeter, it had the luck to begin life at the time of the great rise of international merchant banking, and Francis Baring in particular had the astuteness to see the vast possibilities there. Even before 1800 the House of Barings was already a leading force in the City of London, and Francis was sitting in Parliament.

Of the 31 millionaire British merchant bankers who died between 1809 and 1839, Mr. Ziegler tells us, 24 were Jewish. The Barings were not; as descendants of low-church North German Protestants they were from the first an anomaly in their field. Mr. Ziegler consciously risks being called anti-Semitic merely for making much of this, but clearly he has good historical reason to do so, because in the context the Barings' non-Jewishness was one of the most striking facts about them, and their outspoken rivalry during the 19th century with the Jewish Rothschilds was all but the defining fact about them.

The Barings were seldom accused of being brilliant in society. The original Francis was spoken of as ''the mama'' of his family because he was so fond of ordering the children's clothes and fussing over the nursery. ''We had a dull dinner at Lady Ashburton's,'' William Makepeace Thackeray once complained. ''A party of Barings, chiefly.'' (On a subliminal level, it probably didn't help matters that ''Baring'' sounds so much like ''boring.'') In their early years the Barings profited largely from joint ventures that they were able to get into with the well-established Dutch firm of Hope & Company. Even before the formation of the United States, the Barings were prescient enough to establish themselves on this side of the Atlantic, and they soon came to be the foreign bankers most trusted by the United States Government. Between 1865 and 1890, they were the source of more than a quarter of all American railroad stock issued in London - a principal source of funds for our railroads during that period.
