Menstrual questions cut from athletic forms amid criticism     (www.sfgate.com)

https://www.sfgate.com/sports/article/menstrual-questions-cut-from-athletic-forms-amid-17774529.php

Questions about female athletes’ menstrual history will no longer appear on the medical forms that Florida high school students have to fill out before participating in sports.

The Florida High School Athletic Association axed the questions on Thursday after listening to a flood of complaints contained in letters read aloud during an emergency meeting of the board.

Answering the questions was previously optional, but an association advisory committee recently recommended that it be mandatory, sparking the firestorm of criticism.

Some called the questions “humiliating” and “invasive,” and others suggested they were connected to a recent bill barring transgender girls and women from playing on public school teams intended for student athletes identified as girls at birth

California just legalized 'human composting.' Not everyone is happy.     (www.sfgate.com)

https://www.sfgate.com/politics/article/california-legalizes-human-composting-17374470.php

There are traditionally two options for what to do with a body after death: burial or cremation.

In California, a third choice will soon present itself for those who shuffle off this mortal coil. That choice is human composting.

The process of composting a cadaver, already legalized in Washington, Colorado and Oregon, involves placing the body in a reusable container, surrounding it with wood chips and aerating it to let microbes and bacteria grow. After about a month, the remains will decompose and be fully transformed into soil. Companies such as Recompose in Washington offer the service at a natural organic reduction facility.

Unlike cremation, the process avoids the burning of fossil fuels and emission of carbon monoxide. National Geographic estimates that cremations in the U.S. alone emit about 360,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide a year

Assembly Bill 351, signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom on Sunday, will allow residents to choose human composting, or natural organic reduction (NOR), after death starting in 2027

fuck climate change and those who profits from this scam. they want to reduce you to zero

Did you know Bruce Lee was a circumcised Jew? Yes, that Bruce Lee, the man who introduced the word “kung fu” to the English language, the patron saint of martial arts. In fact, the man considered by many as the icon of Asian masculinity turned out to be five-eighths Chinese, one-quarter English, and one-eighth Dutch Jewish.

Figures.

@KatHarzso I thought of you when I saw this story since you've been covering the Dixie and Lassen fires. If he's found guilty this piece of shit should be executed.

Pic of the guy: https://files.catbox.moe/gtsqic.jpg

From the article:

Authorities launched an investigation of Maynard on July 20, and when he was stopped by police in Susanville on Aug. 3, a U.S. Forest Service agent placed a tracking device under his car, the Bee said.

"Over the course of the last several weeks, Maynard has set a series of fires in the vicinity of Lassen National Forest and Trinity National Forest," Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Anderson wrote in a detention memo, the Bee said. "... The area in which Maynard chose to set his fires is near the ongoing Dixie Fire, a fire which is still not contained despite deployment and efforts of over 5,000 personnel."

EDIT:

New info: https://www.viportal.co/news/former-college-professor-accused-of-setting-fires-near-dixie-fire/

"He entered the evacuation zone and began setting fires behind the first responders fighting the Dixie fire. In addition to the danger of enlarging the Dixie fire and threatening more lives and property, this increased the danger to the first responders, ” the document alleges. “Maynard’s fires were placed in the perfect position to increase the risk of firefighters being trapped between fires."
