When the Betelgeuse brouhaha broke a couple of yrs ago I began taking particular interest in the star, it is possible it could have dimmed by about half of one magnitude for a while, however months ago before the Sun rendered it invisible it seemed ok to me, while there were no extra brightenings the whole time that I witnessed. But how could that be, Mars has insufficient atmospheric pressure to allow liquid water to exist .. it must be something else hydrocarbon - oil - comes to mind. NASA Link.

NASA reports the space mass, coined “2013 WV44”, will pass our skies at its closest point at 7pm AEST, travelling at about 34 times the speed of sound.

Just after 6pm AEST where I am. Bye, all.
