Neuralink sounds dystopian, but in the future you may be forced to chip yourself to protect yourself.     (technology)

The problem is that, while Musk is working on this potentially hazardous technology, stopping him from doing so wouldn't stop neural chips from being developed. With a bad actor able to chip people and take over their heads, turning them into slaves, the only defense may be to implant your own chip first, to fight off such control.

Of course, how do you trust the defense chip doesn't have some ulterior motives embedded in its innards? What happens if you got the McAfee implant?

A BIONIC willy that could restore erectile function has been developed by scientists.

Experiments on pigs found a plastic patch can be used to strengthen tissue that contracts to keep the penis hard when it is erect.

https://vnexplorer.net/spotify-becomes-latest-tech-titan-to-announce-layoffs-s7378992.html

Spotify announced plans Monday to slash its headcount by 6% as part of a drive to boost efficiency at the world’s largest music streaming service.

Announcing what he called the ”difficult but necessary” decision in a blog post, CEO Daniel Ek said the challenging economic environment meant the company needed to cut costs, noting that growth in operational spending had been outpacing revenue growth 2-1.

With a workforce of about 10,000, the cuts will mean about 600 people will lose their jobs company-wide. Ek said affected employees would be informed today.

this cant be real LMAO: On the 50th Anniversary of the First Mobile Phone Call, New Study Finds People Would Rather Give Up The Gym, Sports, Netflix — Even Sex — Than Their Phone     (www.globenewswire.com)

Fifty years after the first mobile phone call was made on April 3, 1973, a new mobile communications survey has been commissioned by Sinch (publ), the company powering meaningful conversations between businesses and their customers through its Customer Communications Cloud. The survey reveals how vital mobile phones are to our lives, finding nearly 72% of people couldn’t imagine going more than a weekend without their mobile phone, while nearly a quarter (23%) believe they could last an hour at most.

Though mobile phone technology has made incredible advances, the survey underscores that these devices will remain the go-to for communicating with friends, family, and businesses for the next 50 years and beyond. Marty Cooper’s first phone call from a 6th Avenue New York sidewalk unleashed a new era of mobility and choice for consumers, leaving them more willing to give up the gym (41%), TV (25% of millennials) or even sex (22% of Gen Z respondents) than their mobile phones.

https://videocardz.com/newz/redditors-ryzen-7-7800x3d-cpu-burns-out-gamersnexus-immediately-offers-to-buy-it

There is a very popular thread on Reddit featuring a picture of one of the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. But this is not a story from a happy user because the CPU in question died. The processor has suddenly burned out and there is now a small bulge on the CPU. Unfortunately for this user, the CPU is no longer operational and so is the expensive motherboard.

It looks like this case is not isolated and most cases of this kind have one thing in common, and that’s the ASUS motherboard. It is said that the company has recently taken down the latest BIOS, possibly to avoid any potential problems for users. However, it is said that the ASUS voltage regulator mechanism might be to blame. Russian YouTuber and technician Vik-Off had a similar problem with Ryzen 9 7950X3D on an ASUS ROG motherboard recently:

Everything here is just boring reposts or walls of text so let's see if there are people actually working on OC.

Researchers from Linköping University in Sweden made a groundbreaking development: they created a functional transistor out of wood.

This new transistor could pave the way for much more sustainable computing.

I gotta admit, it's pretty cool. But at the same time I hate the idea of mass adoption of VR. That's not a future I want to live in. Smart phones have fucked it up enough as is.
