Gore tag, because you get to see lots of motorcycle guts.

And because I learned my lesson.

Bike talk with Dangus (tyre deflating overnight)     (MechanicalManiacs)

You remember we discussed this last week and I told you that replacing the valve core and replenishing the sealant didn't cure the problem...well yesterday the tyre almost didn't get me into town and back so I got the bike out today and put some soapy water on the valve core end - no bubbles. Checked for punctures as evidenced by hissing/sealant escaping - nothing. Then checked the valve seat by putting soapy water on it and...bingo! Big bubbles. So I did what you said namely unscrewing the valve a bit and pushing it up into the tyre to separate the internal tyre-strip (we are talking tubeless) from the tyre and letting the sealant get to the valve base and forming a seal and, dude, it seems to be working. No bubbles. Going into town soon so I'll see how it goes. As you know, dangus, I'm no bike tech-head but your advice saved me some dough as I would have needed to go to the bike shop! Thanks, dude, appreciate it.

electrical talk     (i.ibb.co)

Due to a recent intruder I've got the front-door sensor light up and running. It's been little used in 15 years and one of the two screw-bulbs corroded in the fitting (salt air?). The glass bulb came out but left the metal thread behind. I managed to tear out the metal remains but the thread on the ceramic housing seems to have worn so that it's difficult to get a tight fit for the globe. I'm thinking of wrapping electrical tape (but any tape would probably do) around the screw of the light globe to give it more grip. Do you see any problems with that? Got a better idea?

Talking mechanics with dangus - positioning a tap - I f..ked up.     (MechanicalManiacs)

I'm sorry dangus, I've let you down again. I'm no tech-head, dude. I'm not a natural with mechanical stuff and could never have been a tradie much to the chagrin of the two wives in my life whose daddies were tradies.

How people manage to get the tap in the right position with these containers without wrecking the thread by forcing things is beyond me. I've come up with a solution:

I guess another possibility is to put the tap in the right position and glue it with a waterproof glue?
As usual any hints would be appreciated.
