Not That Any Of You Ever Would, But Do Not Buy Parfums De Marly Pegasus     (Fragrances)

Parfums De Marly is a great brand, but they have some shitters, too. Pegasus smells good, but for $380 they can go fuck themselves. I got a spray in the mall yesterday and I thought: “Well, it’s not bad, but is NOT worth more than like $70…it smells oddly familiar, too…”

When I got home, I realized it smelled 90% like my Lapidus Altamir—a men’s cologne from the early 1980’s—which can be had for like $24 a bottle. There are a couple of subtleties of Pegasus missing from Altamir—particulary the metallic and ozonic kind of effect, but the base is 100% Altamir, so kiss my ass because only the most discerning noses would be able to tell the difference IMO.

https://www.maxaroma.com/fragrance/men/ted-lapidus-altamir-cologne/pid/16805/3

Pegasus probably lasts longer and has more sillage, but that doesn’t mean it is worth $350 more. I’ll gladly just respray Altamir if in the mood for that scent.

Pretty good idea. Might make great money in a nightclub and the guy is spot on about affiliate stuff, too. Those are pretty high end colognes, too. Great way to sample them relatively inexpensively without waiting for a decant to be delivered.

Damn you. You've cost me so much money.

In the past few months I've gotten 3 orders of decants, bottles of Chanel Homme Sport, Naxos, Montane Infinity, Nishane Ambra Calabria, and ADP Colonia Pura.

Nishane Ambra Calabria transported me mentally to a grassy path that led to a seaside lemon tree grove with honeysuckle and then jasmine upwind. It's so dynamic that I couldn't help but get a bottle. Now I have to wait for warmer weather.

I want to get Xerjoff 40 knots, but still have a good bit of decant. Same with Guerlain le Homme Ideal which is great for the days I go into the office, but I want to try Issey Miyake L'Eau D'Issey Pour Homme first as it might be better for the same purpose.

I plan to stop soon, but want decants of Infinity 45 and some more Xerjoffs (Shooting Stars, Zefiro, and Alexandria II).

I got a very small sample of this for free and it's pretty good, but not quite worth the asking price of $144 IMO. It is marketed unisex to both men and women, which I'm not too crazy about, but the smell is pretty deep and intoxicating. The best thing I can compare it to is Dior Homme Intense, but it is less lipstick-y smelling and this slightly better IMO. I would definitely choose this over Dior Homme Intense. Some people are comparing it to Lapidus Altamir, which I also have and somewhat enjoy, but this Gaultier2 is a bit more complex and less synthetic than Altamir. I'd say it is hybrid of Altamir and Dior Homme Intense. I would suggest, for $30, get Altamir and if it appeals to you on any level, then spend the big bucks to get the better Gaultier2. Obviously, the best thing to do in these situations is to buy decants for like $8 to try them out or even better still to walk into someplace like Macys or Dillards and sample this stuff before buying. `

Wearing This Now     (www.fragrantica.com)

Smells unlike any other stuff I have and it smells good, but I have to be in a certain mood to wear it. I'd say it works best for fall, but you can go all year with it because it's not overly strong or cloying. You get moderate longevity with it, but it is hard to overspray it. I smell pine and berries, mainly. I overpaid for this because it was hard to get when it first came out, but now you can get it for like $35. Cool, asymmetrical, blue metallic bottle, as well. Well worth the $40 asking price and you're guaranteed not to smell like anyone else because this isn't carried in department stores.

Best Cheapo Colognes     (Fragrances)

1. Varvatos Vintage. Smells completely different from the also very good John Varvatos, although the bottles look very similar. You can get this from a discounter for around $35.

https://www.fragrancenet.com/cologne/john-varvatos/john-varvatos-vintage/edt?gclid=Cj0KCQjwzva1BhD3ARIsADQuPnVqfyuJZz2NQRowa1ufvNLmRrsA3dHr9JwFA1GSadiOUbKWpBvmdtAaAu%2dPEALw_wcB&mv_pc=gawus_pla_c_x_20379311721_160509&utm_campaign=x&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google_us#160509

2. Nautica Voyage. Yes, it smells like a generic aquatic summer fragrance, but it has great staying power for the price and no one will find it offensive. IT can probably be had for $20.

https://www.fragrancenet.com/cologne/nautica/nautica-voyage/edt#146363

3. Reyanne Tradition Insurrection Wild 2. A very tobacco-ey scent. It is a bit cloying and synthetic, but still very good--particularly for the price point. Powerful stuff.

https://www.fragrancenet.com/cologne/reyane/insurrection-ii-wild/edt#294743

4. Afnan Turathi Blue. Smells like Bleu De Chanel with a muskier, animalic undertone. Very masculine. Probably $50 a bottle. Bottle is very prone to falling due to shitty, top heavy weight distribution, but it looks nice.

https://www.fragrancenet.com/cologne/afnan-perfumes/afnan-turathi-blue/eau-de-parfum#415253

5. Old Navy Sea, Salt and Fig. The cheapo, less-sophisticated version of the highly touted Aussie Scent "Goldfield and Banks Pacific Rock Moss" I got 3 small bottles for probably $45. It is unisex and cloying, but good for the gym or masking things like car farts. You can't beat the price and considering how inexpensive it is, it lasts a long time.

https://www.amazon.com/Old-Navy-Kindred-Goods-Salt/dp/B0B8BTPZJY/ref=pd_lpo_sccl_1/136-5524950-0110635?pd_rd_w=gbA6o&content-id=amzn1.sym.4c8c52db-06f8-4e42-8e56-912796f2ea6c&pf_rd_p=4c8c52db-06f8-4e42-8e56-912796f2ea6c&pf_rd_r=87AHWW28KYCDBWTXVG78&pd_rd_wg=8hxUz&pd_rd_r=5aaed8a6-653b-42a8-b9c3-6bc516297342&pd_rd_i=B0B8BTPZJY&psc=1

6. Lapidus by Ted Lapidus. Not a good one to wear in public because it is both loud and dated, but I like to wear this when I go to bed or maybe if I'm just in my neighborhood running errands. A POWERFUL 80's fragrance that has a lot of staying power. Can be had for probably $25 a bottle.

https://www.fragrancenet.com/cologne/ted-lapidus/lapidus/edt#118890

7. Paul Sebastian. Everything I said about Lapidus applies here. Same price point.

https://www.fragrancenet.com/cologne/paul-sebastian/paul-sebastian/cologne#116719

8. Versace Blue Jeans. A dressed down, summery scent that is surprisingly inexpensive for carrying the Versace name. Grab a bottle for like $35.

https://www.fragrancenet.com/cologne/gianni-versace/blue-jeans/edt#118108

9. Lacoste Men Blanc 12.12.12. A little cloying, but good for summer and super cheap at around $30 a bottle.

Thanks @TheBigGuyFromQueens for recommending it. The almond vanilla scent is a good mix and it's not too sweet (or expensive).

I also got a tester of Versace Eros that was not recommended by him, but is highly rated and it's a no go. About 30 minutes in it smells like a mixture of industrial Cleaner (possibly is), plastic, sanitizer, and baby powder. This combines to smell like a clean baby diaper on a recently cleaned hospital floor.

What I liked:

Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Elixir: This stuff is POWERFUL. It will be my next purchase along with Arlyn Wild Pepper.

Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Parfum. Also very good.

Ralph Lauren Ralph’s Club Elixir. Wow! I usually don’t like leathery scents aside from my O.G. John Varvatos bottle, but this stuff is very good. Will probably buy eventually.

Armani Code Parfum. This is very good, but not a big difference from Absolu which I have already. If I was loaded, I would buy it, but it’s almost redundant.

La Nuit D’lomme Parfum. Kind of a downer. An aromatic/acquatic flanker take on the original, but just like the original it lacks longevity and the projection is only so-so. The original is still in my top 25 and would be higher if it weren’t so weak/transient

Jew just brings up Trump out of left fields, Jeremy Fragrance is not a political guy. He's a manic fitness nut who used to be in a boy band in Germany. He likes collecting colognes and doing pushups, yet this little fucking kike had to bring up Trump for no reason.

When he said he was for Jesus, the Jew probably fantasized about killing him.

5 Men’s Colognes to Consider     (Fragrances)

Nautica Voyage. This is an inexpensive, easy summertime go to. The price (along with most people liking it) makes this purchase a no-brainer. For an upgrade, pay another $20 and get yourself a bottle of Missoni Wave, which lasts just a little longer and also has a niche, creamy scent in addition to the summer fresh vibe.

https://www.amazon.com/Nautica-Voyage-Eau-Toilette-Spray/dp/B000P22TIY

https://www.jomashop.com/missoni-mens-wave-edt-spray-3-4-oz-fragrances-8011003858156.html

Rasasi Hawas. To get a little break from the countless aquatic/beach/gym fragrances of summer that have 90% of the same DNA, go for Hawas, which is a pretty interesting scent. It smells kind of like Pez or Smarties candies with just a hint of musk underneath to make it a bit more mature.

https://www.jomashop.com/rasasi-mens-hawas-edp-spray-3-4-oz-fragrances-614514331026.html

Tom Ford Grey Vetiver. Another summertime alternative to the typical oceanic, fresh scents like Nautica Voyage are vetiver scents, which for some are more of an acquired taste. The best and most respected of them is Grey Vetiver, which is admittedly pricy. However, you can get something similar with a hint of tropical in it that has enormous staying power with Blu Atlas Atlantis, which has a cool bottle and is a bit cheaper.

https://www.macys.com/shop/product/tom-ford-grey-vetiver-eau-de-parfum-collection?ID=1074620

https://bluatlas.com/products/fragrance

Viktor and Rolf Spicebomb Extreme. You can go with flankers like the original Spicebomb or Infrared, but I like the longevity and power of the Extreme. This is strictly a winter/fall scent of Pepper, Cinnamon and other warm spices. An upgrade for this that smells a bit more refined (a lot more expensive, as well) is Tom Ford’s Noir Extreme.

https://www.sephora.com/product/spicebomb-extreme-P405501?country_switch=us&lang=en&skuId=1798479&srsltid=AfmBOorMDDKb2HF1C8fiXGxBZY3-sPrBvj6i_TjOBlncEsue3XKzpIR2jQk

https://www.macys.com/shop/product/tom-ford-noir-extreme-eau-de-parfum-fragrance-collection?ID=2163696

Bleu De Chanel: The ultimate office fragrance. Not the most original or daring scent, but this is a classy one that has mass appeal and will likely not be offensive to anyone. Something in a similar vein that is half the price and somewhat more masculine/musky is Afnan Turathi Blue. Turathi Blue also has great longevity.

https://www.sephora.com/product/bleu-de-chanel-P270302?skuId=1284728
