Kinda fucking weird that right at the end of my Welding edumacation that some broad would waltz into my life and drop this kinda shit on me. Given my previous experience with something that had a name that just so happens to share similarities with this broad...

TLDR: Aliens interact with us under the illusion of Gods and Demons, and the Well of Souls keeps us all contained on this rock due to us being genetically modified into being susceptible to brainwashing.

Oh, and I'm apparently connected to all of it in some profound enough way that you'd think it were a Glow Op.

The only thing that really has me doubting it being a glow op is the fact that one of them has an affinity for me, had interacted and name dropped on me 7 years ago, and that I've got a few folks that have been keeping an eye on me for years I guess.

I have been presented an opportunity that would allow me to teach a trade skill. The demand for this field is outpacing the shriveled up husk of a department can handle (we're talking 2 instructors for the whole program), and it seems that there is personal interest from the top to build out trades such as this one.

I am not a stupid man, I am aware of how fucked the Academic field is currently, and I am profoundly aware of how low the standard has become for a student to pass a class. Instructors cannot withdraw students from a course for shitty attendance, and Instructors are incentivised to increase the 'success rate' of their students, by any means necessary.

But I dont see anyone trying to make their own schools for training the next generation. I do however see a lot of instructors biting their tongues to avoid rammifications for speaking out against this shit. This particular location appears to be shifting it's perspective in a positive way with young blood finding it's way into this trade and having their hushed conversations in the parking lots.

So, my question, if you were presented the opportunity to be at ground zero for a revitalized education program... would you do it?

How did you find your way into this field? What kind of work are you actually doing on the daily? Who is your favorite Machining personality, and why is it AVE? Are there any financial incentives behind handcrank in this day and age, or is there only money in mass production in China? Is there any production to speak of being done Stateside?

I know enough to know I dont know shit, but I would be able to die happy knowing I've tried my best to see American Manufacturing become more than just manufacturing the blueprints that are sent to China

Made a bet with a coworker that the next generation wasnt as retarded as he was, that they weren't lemmings charging off a cliff. He didn't know what a lemming was, so we shook on it. A Gen Z'er walked out the door, college educated btw, and she had no idea what it was. I don't want to live on this planet anymore.
