Was down in Florida for a family reunion. My brother woke me up before the second plane hit and I watched that thing come out the side of the screen. That was the visual today that made me remember. I remember that exact Frozen second of that thing appearing. I can't imagine not seeing it live. It was the only way to experience it.

Then Air Force One took off right next to us. It was really weird. We spent the day in an air airport and there's a lot of machine guns around, no flights. Somebody was buying a moving truck so we rode home in the pitch black back of it. I got home and all the puppies were dead. They had gotten sick. They were all over the place. a really really weird time. My band name at the time was spin laden. I didnt know what a bin laden was. On 9/10/01 i wrote a page called New Century America. All of this contributed to solipsism. I felt maybe i was dreaming.

I moved to New York City a year and a half later and it was still a pit. The cross was still standing and everything. Chuck what's his name wrote a book claiming that the Kid A album matched the events of 9/11. So I started listening to that album as if it represented that day.

Either way all I know is I stayed messed up until at least 2008. I remember still being messed up about it during that year.

Living in the distant future, we have remarkable technology. More Memory, Storage, and Processing power than we could ever need, want, or imagine. We even have the graphics chips integrated directly onto the CPU with specs unfathomable 25 years ago.

And despite all this, the software has gotten slower. There are delays when clicking/opening different windows, panels, and interfaces.

I've had junk computers running Windows 98 and XP that ran snappier than modern systems. What a joke.

Which is to say Freud saw this repression of Eros, or sexual freedom, as necessary. The difference for Freudians like Norman O. Brown, Wilhelm Reich, and to a lesser extent Marcuse, was that they saw this repression as harmful and its overthrow as likely.
