Best to avoid soybean or canola oil, but when push comes to shove, I find Hellman’s.

Not going to pretend I don’t love mayonnaise. A sandwich without it is a wasted opportunity. It is the cohesion between flavors and ties them all together.

How funny - I haven't had mayonnaise in years because I gave up bread (and consequently sandwiches) but I just flew back home to visit family and my mom made deviled eggs with this stuff and I was impressed. (Except for the seed oil thing.) Had a sharper vinegar taste in it that I liked.

Wife makes it from scratch; not buying soybean oil.

[ - ] Love240 1 point 7 hoursMay 22, 2025 18:14:27 ago (+1/-0)

Avocado oil mayo or bust.

Stop consuming machine oil.

[ - ] Spaceman84 0 points 5 hoursMay 22, 2025 20:01:50 ago (+0/-0)

Sunflower oil mayo is okay too.

[ - ] Not_a_redfugee 0 points 4 hoursMay 22, 2025 21:13:21 ago (+0/-0)

Tried it. Maybe it was just the brand but it was too bitter. Back to Hellmann's.

[ - ] HelenHighwater 1 point 7 hoursMay 22, 2025 17:43:24 ago (+1/-0)

Yeah. I tt's the only mayo I will use. Don't really care about soy, maybe it will fill out my boobs a little more.

Even if it had good ingredients, it's a processed food

"Dukes real mayonnaise, made with real poison, to turn you into real unhealthy, fat piece of shit."

It's so easy to make your own mayo at home with olive oil. I do it most weeks and literally takes 5 minutes with a stick blender. Look up a recipe, or don't and eat processed poison. I don't give a shit either way.

[ - ] Not_a_redfugee 0 points 4 hoursMay 22, 2025 21:13:36 ago (+0/-0)

Life pro tip: You really don't need lettuce or tomato on a BLT sandwich if you use a good mayo.

[ - ] Oz5711 1 point 3 hoursMay 22, 2025 21:32:48 ago (+1/-0)

got a nice ring to it too
"i think i'll have a BM"

[ - ] Puller_of_Noses 0 points 2 hoursMay 22, 2025 22:30:36 ago (+0/-0)

What part of a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich do you associate with homosexuality?
...or is it everything in your life?

[ - ] jfroybees 0 points 5 hoursMay 22, 2025 19:38:44 ago (+0/-0)

It is absolutely the best tasting goyslop mayo on the market. Numero Uno confirmed. Homemade aoli is the preferred throat grease if one must. I've tried aoli with all the less omega6/3 filled oils, but they just don't taste the same. It's no wonder there are so many fatties waddling about. Tater salad, cole slaw, and so many other salads that accompany meals to perfection. It sucks sometimes, knowing. I do a lot of german salads to cut down on oils.

[ - ] Spaceman84 0 points 5 hoursMay 22, 2025 20:03:05 ago (+0/-0)

Kewpie jap mayo is better.

[ - ] jfroybees 0 points 5 hoursMay 22, 2025 20:19:07 ago (+0/-0)

The difference between american and nippon mayo is there is more egg and sugar in the japanese one, roughly-speaking from memory.

[ - ] Crackinjokes 0 points 6 hoursMay 22, 2025 19:23:10 ago (+0/-0)

I don't know how much more real it is than any other mayonnaise they all are just a bunch of soybean oil whipped up.

[ - ] BulletStopper [op] 0 points 6 hoursMay 22, 2025 19:27:15 ago (+0/-0)

I tried it and liked it. Just putting it out there as a choice. NBD

[ - ] jfroybees 0 points 5 hoursMay 22, 2025 19:40:43 ago (+0/-0)

Egg, whole or just yolk, make the magic happen, some lemon juice, salt and spices completes it.

Same. You can't go back to other mayos after.

Kewpie mayo is better

[ - ] Gowithit 0 points 4 hoursMay 22, 2025 20:39:16 ago (+0/-0)

Literally no difference in taste when I bought it.

[ - ] 2plus2equals5 0 points 3 hoursMay 22, 2025 22:01:03 ago (+0/-0)*

I generally like Japanese products, but Kewpie hype tastes like grade-b mayo with a lot of pickle juice.

Dukes is good.
Still prefer Hellmanns for taste. Maybe it's the cocaine hemlock notes wafting on the top of the pallet.

[ - ] Not_a_redfugee 0 points 4 hoursMay 22, 2025 21:15:05 ago (+0/-0)

Hellmann's is better

[ - ] Peleg -1 points 7 hoursMay 22, 2025 18:11:24 ago (+0/-1)

Don't use mayonnaise. Salad Dressing for the win!
