Yeah you do, the harbour at Baltimore is only 15m deep and in the event of a dead ship, aka the one in the video when all the power goes off for 15sec, the standard response is to notify VTS and drop anchor exactly as I described. A shakle of chain is about 27m and you can dump 100m in seconds. In the least, it should slow down the container ship considerably, even at 10T.

A very similar thing happened in 1980 to the Sunshine Skyway bridge in Tampa Bay. A sudden storm popped up and a freighter hit one of the support piers. I wasn't alive when it happened but lots of people wrote about it and said it was due to heavy wind and rain in the dark early morning hours. I wonder if something similar happened here?

As well the explosive flash seen as the Baltimore Bridge collapsed surely resembles similar explosive flashes at the May 23, 2013 collapse of the Skagit River Bridge in Washington State .. says the same firm cooked up both disasters to me.
