Awesome tips man I appreciate that! I mess around with wiring and like to set up guitars, but I haven't done many. Hardest was probably a fender player jaguar, or the peavey t-15 but I didn't have to do anything to the nut.

I blocked up my squier strat since I was a youngster and after the Jag and T-15 I was thinking I could handle a floating strat bridge. But, with this 57 reissue, literally everything being new it's added a layer of complexity. I'll post some updates later this weekend. Thanks for the props on the cover. I'm really glad I mentioned the nut filing, because I didn't think to do it like @popticalillusion mentioned above and the pencil line seems so simple I don't know why I didn't think of it.

I hadn't really gotten that far, I filed a little bit, got low enough to not jump strings in bends and it's sat there since thursday evening, on account of duties with life keeping me from taking the time it deserves to do it properly. Tomorrow is the day where I will get the floating bridge intonation set and the nut filed to allow for compliance with action tolerances.
