They took a genetic sample from him and plugged it in to a prediction model for skin color, eyes hair color. There are 16 genes for skin that this model uses for prediction. But the dna was so old they couldn’t get 3 of those genes at all and 2 other genes were missing one of two copies. So they are guessing based on missing information. Not to mention, the DNA becomes less reliable over time. The woman who developed the prediction model says theres no way to know what this dude’s skin color is.

They could be moved up and down and into various orientations and maintain their position wherever they were placed.
