No real enthusiast cars anymore. I hate jews and The World that masterbates for them.

Yeah the only good reason to switch is if the performance is actually superior.

Otherwise it's just ESG nonsense.

If they go with an electric motor at each wheel, it could have an insane amount of torque and stupid acceleration. The problem is that the energy density of current battery tech means it will have shit range if you actually drive it hard. Can't make the battery bigger or it'll be too heavy to be nimble on the track.

Yeah that is the main reason why it's basically premature tech for the typical car enthusiast.

The main problem is it can be remotely hijacked or shut off. Which is of course a problem in a lot of modern cars that depend on computers.

They must have gotten tired of selling so many cars; this will reduce load on their factories, giving their employees more time to enjoy spending time with one another instead of slaving away on building WRX STIs.

Isn't every iteration of the WRX STi weaker in horsepower with every model since gen3 in '07?

WRX
Off memory, it has something to do with the gas emissions index and Euro/USA markets requiring major changes to engine design to reduce pollutants.

Also fatter and heavier.

Since those regulations mainly apply to mfrs, you're probably better off buying a stock WRX then modifying it yourself. Maybe that has something to do with them not offering it.

US STI always had the same 2.5 liter boxer. Rest of the world got twin scroll 2.0.

Even the subaru-buying lesbians probably agree!

I don't understand why anyone would spend that much money on that car. You could get a faster American muscle car for around the same price that probably handles just as good and has a way better interior.

American cars are shit, while Japanese cars are not. That's why.

True. They hold their value better, but sports cars aren't going to be that reliable in the first place.

American muscle cars are better for the interstate imo. With a big V8, there is no need to downshift to pass in most cases. The wheelbase is long enough for a good ride at higher speeds. Also the sound is better with more NA cylinders.

Would a muscle car have AWD? That's the main reason to buy a WRX

[ - ] mattsixteen24 0 points 3.2 yearsMar 14, 2022 19:06:46 ago (+0/-0)

Challenger has awd.

Makes the STI look light though. 3450 vs over 4000 lbs

[ - ] Nosferatjew 0 points 3.2 yearsMar 14, 2022 22:19:33 ago (+0/-0)

For a modern performance sedan, the STI is light, that's a big part of it's appeal. 0-60 in 4.6sec with 310hp is pretty decent.

Thread was having a discussion about it getting fatter. I agree that for any car in 2020 it is light. Cars keep getting fatter. In general.
