What do you think about using something like a 'spoiler' in CSS over the upvote/downvote/score, and only revealing the upvote/downvote/score after someone committed to voting up or down?
It is important to also remember that 'insanity' is not a term used in medicine or psychology, and its' only technical usage is actually in law, where the condition of the mind is found to be such that an individual cannot be held liable for their actions.
