Was reflecting on a memory near a restaurant I used to work at that I wanted to work at.

I did an interview and they said I would be a busser and a hotel assistant. I said I can do that. She showed me the details and my duties and I was taken back with how laid back it was so I said "Oh, this job shouldn't be a problem, seems easy enough once you understand it."

She emailed me saying she doesn't want someone who doesn't finds the job challenging and I shouldn't tell a new job in an interview that the job looks easy. Actually still have the email because my gmail is ancient.

I'm currently an assembly technician at a large semiconductor company that has potential for a great path, steady income, bonuses, stock purchase plan, etc. Quite a lot actually but my pay is $19. 15% differential, I work at night, so it is $21.85. I get 15 hours of OT bi weekly, and when I sign up for OT I can rack it up to 35 at $32.75. I'll move to test by this year which will pay me $5 dollars more. They keep rumoring a wage adjustment because people are leaving droves.

Today I had an interview for a pretty big car dealership in the north of my state for potential to make 90-140k a year. Downside is a lot of less benefits than the other job. And they kind of sounded tight ass about things saying how hard you need to work but it's worth it for the money.

I don't have to work very hard at my current job. But I'm the most valuable asset on my team that has yet to be moved into a position that pays higher.

I did high end restaurant for 6 years but quit on the day covid shut down everything. So I understand the customer service bullshit part if I were to deal with car dealership people. They said the past two years were the best years for their sales and they see the market crash coming as a good thing for them.
