Boomer dads on father's day...

submitted by MaryXmas to whatever 1 dayJun 15, 2025 17:54:15 ago (+14/-2)     (whatever)

Years of being a shitty father and now your kids don't call. And you still blame your kids.

It’s a nonsense holiday anyway. You shouldn’t be celebrated for something you are supposed to do.

That is some participation trophy type bullshit.

[ - ] NoRefunds 5 points 1 dayJun 15, 2025 20:58:41 ago (+5/-0)

don't celebrate fathers and mothers

That's some commie talk

[ - ] Flanders 1 point 1 dayJun 15, 2025 22:22:34 ago (+1/-0)

I disagree. Children should always respect and honor their parents (but, only if the parents faithfully provided for them and deserved their remembrances). Too many kids today look at "Father's Day" as being the only time to do that and stay "too busy" to appreciate the good fathers or mothers. They use that one day as an excuse for their neglectful habits, and often merely use jewcards to express any of their truly good feelings.

[ - ] OftenWrong 0 points 22 hoursJun 16, 2025 10:38:15 ago (+0/-0)

Respect is already contained in honour. Honour pertains to honesty so honouring them isn't putting up with them. If they have dishonoured you it is actually honouring them to only do the bare minimum efforts like recognizing them enough to only say happy fathers day so they know you know they exist and appreciate that they had a role in your life without giving them more honour than they are entitled to. If they dishonour you then how much honour you honestly owe them is at the least just a bit of mercy but not tolerance or effort as if they are honourable, that would be dishonourable because honour pertains to honesty so honouring them more than they deserve and more than would be mercy would be dishonest

If you raised your children right, you don't need a day.

[ - ] NoRefunds 1 point 23 hoursJun 16, 2025 09:41:21 ago (+1/-0)

if you raised your children right, they will be happy to have that day

What about this particular position in our orbit around the sun makes it uniquely about male progenitors? This is passage of time propaganda, probably paid for by big calendar. (or just a standard element of herd management)

[ - ] NoRefunds 0 points 22 hoursJun 16, 2025 10:28:14 ago (+0/-0)

Because it's the peak of summer and nice to go out with your family, fucking retard. Same with Mother's day, peak of Spring. July, August is too fucking hot, October and November is shit weather. This is why this particular position in our orbit around the sun makes it amenable. Go back to reddit.

Be a rebel. go out on a nice day thats not fathers day

July:
Average High: 72°F (21°C)
Average Low: 54°F (12°C)
Average Temperature: 63°F (15°C)
Precipitation: Very low, with only 0.1 inches (2 mm) of rain over zero days
Humidity: Around 58%

August:
Average High: 73°F
Average Low: 54°F
Average Temperature: 63°F
Precipitation: Very low, with only 0.05 inches (0.1 mm)
Humidity: Around 54%

July and August seem okay.

October:
Average High: 73°F (23°C)
Average Low: 49°F (9°C)
Average Mean Temperature: 61°F (16°C)
Precipitation: 0.92 inches (approximately 31 mm)
Humidity: 69% (described as humid but cool)
Chance of Rain: 7%

November:
Average High: 67°F (19°C)
Average Low: 44°F (7°C)
Average Mean Temperature: 55°F (13°C)
Precipitation: 2.28 inches (approximately 61 mm)
Humidity: 73% (described as humid but cool)
Chance of Rain: 20%

October and November are fine, although the first rain often happens in November, if not October.

But what is unique about that particular 1.6 million mile section of our orbit? Sounds like collusion between herd management and big calendar.

I know, I should have chosen an awful place with enough privation and hardship to win a rap battle, but through some mysterious defect in character, tho blessed physically, a pleasant and enjoyable environment has been my fate.

Do you have a moment to talk about days over 70F in January?

[ - ] NoRefunds 2 points 19 hoursJun 16, 2025 13:32:39 ago (+2/-0)

Everywhere isn't California, dumbass

That’s because the millennial graduated high school 8 years ago and Dad keeps pestering him to move out of the fucking basement and go get a real job…

[ - ] Sector2 0 points 22 hoursJun 16, 2025 10:23:16 ago (+0/-0)

The basement denotes a high probability of an extreme weather climate, so the kid should relocate, from a "benefit to him" perspective. From ours, we're already full, so he should stay in his low quality location. Just not in his dad's basement. His dad thinks he's a loser, and that he has no inherent use for his own mind and body. "See if you can trick someone into purchasing the use of them, son. That's your best shot at getting any value out of them!"

A father that tells a son to 'get a job' might as well just tell him he thinks he's 'not exactly a winner'.

strawman much?

[ - ] Indoctrinated_USA 1 point 1 dayJun 16, 2025 02:23:39 ago (+1/-0)

It's not like Boomer mothers were any better.
It's not a strawman, it's a stereotype.

[ - ] ModernGuilt 0 points 20 hoursJun 16, 2025 12:28:48 ago (+0/-0)

Boomer mothers were the OG Karen

[ - ] jfroybees 1 point 1 dayJun 15, 2025 18:36:32 ago (+1/-0)

Every generation has its share of shitty moms and dads. And for those of us who may have had "shitty" parents (mine were not ALL bad, in fact, they taught me a lot) we have the chance to break the poopie chain.

But you are right in the regard that there is comeuppance for all who betray, abuse and neglect their own.

[ - ] ModernGuilt 1 point 1 dayJun 15, 2025 19:09:54 ago (+2/-1)

ITT: shitty boomer parents who blame their kids for everything

[ - ] Sector2 0 points 22 hoursJun 16, 2025 10:28:24 ago (+0/-0)

That doesn't make any chronological sense.

[ - ] BlueEyedAngloMasterRaceGod 1 point 1 dayJun 15, 2025 23:06:11 ago (+1/-0)

catch 22, if they had enough humility and intelligence to realise that they were shitty, they probably never would've been shitty in the first place. i just limit my interactions with my father, i've tried every tactic to try and make him see sense and it's a waste of time. he's a pure narcissist. i send him a single text for bday/fathers day, put up with maybe 2 phone calls a year where i just let him ramble his garbage, and see him every second xmas. it's a great test of patience, i can't add anything to the conversation without him immediately trying to talk over me. i mainly just put up with it now to make sure i get whatever crumb of inheritance is left after he dies, said crumb under great risk from his new thai wife. ugh...

[ - ] Gowithit 1 point 23 hoursJun 16, 2025 10:16:48 ago (+1/-0)

New Thai wife

Lol

[ - ] Sector2 0 points 22 hoursJun 16, 2025 10:27:27 ago (+0/-0)

It could only be worse if she's the same age as BluEyes.

[ - ] Gowithit 0 points 22 hoursJun 16, 2025 10:35:15 ago (+0/-0)

My Asian stepmom is only 8 years older than me. Same age as my oldest sister though. Ah rip blue eyes inheritance.

[ - ] Sector2 1 point 22 hoursJun 16, 2025 10:47:10 ago (+1/-0)

I'm going to start saying Ohio.

Father’s day is actually celebrated when your dad reminisces and drinks on the day he fucked your mother.

Mother’s day is your birthday.
