What are the implications for Australia?

By Louise Miolin

Malcolm Davis is a senior data analyst at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute.

He told Nadia Mitsopoulos on ABC Perth Mornings there could be economic repercussions for Australia if conflict escalates following Israel's attack.

Dr Davis is concerned about our oil supply.

"We are highly dependent on Middle Eastern oil for our economy," he said.

"If that oil supply was threatened or cut off in any way, that would seriously effect our economic stability.

"It should be a lesson to Australia and its leaders that we should not be dependent on distant critical resources."

China was given Australia already. Did they miss the part where communist countries live with constant shortages of energy, both oil and food? It's a religious belief.
