You have to realize that they have built bulwarks around all the pillars that hold that bridge up because they fully expect all kinds of attacks on the bridge. If you look closely at the video you'll notice there are big giant round things in front of the pillars so nothing can actually get close to the pillars themselves. There's also fencing around it. All this did was blow up a big protective pillar that was near the supporting structure but was not the supporting structure at all.
