The fact that it doesn't share electricity consumption vs energy produced means it's absolutely not commercially viable in it's current iteration.

It isn't, no way that it is yet. We are talking about levels of min/maxing that are unheard of at this time.

This method would be fine if you literally have no gasoline available in any other method, but you better have a ton of water and a reliable, affordable power source.

A nuclear power plant makes its own backup generator fuel (if you can make diesel this way, or use a gasoline generator). Slowly keep the tank topped off and burn it from the bottom for testing.

Yep, iirc just like nuclear reactors can be used to produce either physical gold or diamond. However thats offset by the cost per unit - outrageous - something like $10 000 - $100 000 worth of electricity cost to create the fusion needed for a small, tiny piece.

Commercially created diamond is cheaper than average diamond prices already. For industrial applications it's the most common way they're obtained aside from "unusable" decorative diamond supplies.

The gold example still sticks though.

This is the most retarded form of carbon capture imaginable. If they were serious about it then they'd just attach these units on the exhausts of stuff like gas lines that actually have a reasonable amount of carbon. Only 0.0427% of the air is CO2 so it's just pointless not tapping from easier available sources just assuming the process works in the first place.

Depends on how much hydrogen is required.

Right now the efficiency of the chemical methods of combining hydrogen and carbon chains is very low.

Adding in the cost of the water you need to electrolyte and the massive heat source you've now created and...

This doesn't look very promising yet.

So it's inefficient as fuck. The beauty of hydrocarbons (oil) from the ground is mother nature doing most of the work for you.
