I guarantee one of the reasons that Nature edited the results to downplay the newly found dramatic differences in the genetics between humans and apes is that they are worried that someone will do a similar comparison and find much more dramatic differences between sub-Saharan African populations and European populations. And they just don't want people thinking along those lines.
