Microsoft know that the vast majority of their users will never switch away to anything else. They know that the vast majority of their users are too technically inept to entertain any such idea.
Microsoft can and will continue to push an endless torrent of anti-user "features" and pretty much all Windows users functionally have no choice but to grit their teeth and bear it.
