I was thinking of trying to find the owner and maybe obtaining the car, however if I did it would probly send me to the poorhouse .. Video.

Like with any BMW the very first thing you do is you go to I think it's AutoZone who sells automotive hoses by the foot and you buy all the hoses that the car has in the engine bay and you make them yourself to save boatloads of money and you simply go through and replace every single rubber hose or plastic hose in the engine bay before you do anything else. That's because with BMWs anyway they're notorious for getting small cracks and holes in the hoses and then all the sensors are put off by the wrong vacuum or pressure or whatever.

Then and only then do you actually begin to replace sensors and vacuum gauges etc.

Buying hose by the foot at AutoZone or maybe it's Napa I can't remember is very inexpensive versus buying hoses from the dealer or even an aftermarket. And you do not need the shaped hoses you can replace them with regular flexible hoses of the same diameter and strength as long as you make sure they clear all the moving parts and any hot metal.

That's not that old and they're pretty straightforward to work on... assuming it has been owned by someone who gave a fuck and it's not just completely ruined somehow... because having to get a new engine or transmission is a little more pricey in dollars or hours of work, depending.

I highly recommend Benzes. Generally. Particularly the diesels.
