I lived in Spain for a while and was told about this issue by a landlord. Basically all the laws are on the squatters’ side and he’d had properties hi jacked and the police wouldn’t help him. I asked him why landlords didn’t just hire security firms like the ones in the video, he said that they did but the security firms also hired squatters so that the landlords would have to hire the security firms. Very efficient systems they have going on in Spain!

Yes. Nothing short of local militias who enforce the community's will is going to archieve anything. But the communities are all old people who were brainwashed their entire life to believe democracy is good.

the okupas, a serious problem in spain. Imagine you go to your second home, sun, fiesta etc, and you can't get in bc the locks have been changed. Your house is now occupied by a bunch of losers, who are too lazy to work and who forced their way into a property that is not theirs. Furthermore, the (socialist) law protects them, especially when children are involved, and it is very difficult, and costly to get these criminals out.

Masks and beatings can be effective if you've let things get to that point. In a multicultural place, leaving substantial assets lying around for anyone to grab is generally a bad idea.
