Never seen this before

Well kind of. Jeff Healey played like this, but never any crazy shit like here. Check out Rory Hoffman on the right. He's obviously got at least 1 bass string, possibly 2, not sure what's going on there. This asshole plays about 20 instruments and sings, all amazingly like this. He looks like he's blind, or somethings wrong with him.

I HIGHLY suggest checking out Joscho Stephan's youtube channel. It's 100s of videos where something amazing happens in every single one. Usually with someone I've never heard of who is incredible.

Not sure if you'd already know him but there's a guy called Charlie Hunter who plays some crazy guitar with fanned out frets. It's 8 strings including 3 bass strings. The bass strings have separate pickups. Here's one video.

He's a trip. I got to see him up close a long time ago, it doesn't make any more sense seeing it. "I want to sound like an organ player, so I'll just do that on guitar".

Dudes have been putting bass strings on guitars since the 60's that I know of.

lap-slide has some definite benefits. Complex glissandos being one of them.
