Yeah, I have a dishwasher. Mine always makes this terrible sighing noise when it's working though. Not sure if I should try to fix it, or just swap it out for a new model.
Yes and idk depends on how many knives I'm washing. If I'm doing dishes I'll throw it in the sink and do it. If I'm just snacking on something then I'll put it back.
No, because I rarely eat bread, and when I do I get it pre-sliced. Usually it's noodles/pasta, rice, tortillas, or something I baked myself in single servings like homemade hot pockets.
I don't have a dedicated bread knife but like a normal person, I always wash any utensil after using it. Even if the utensil doesn't "pick up" any food particles, like slicing bread.

Oh noes! I got microscopic bread residue on my bread cutting knife that I only ever use to cut bread. Better power up the auotclave boys, this bitch is unclean.
I definitely do not wash the bread knife after every use. Seems like a complete waste of time and energy. I leave the sour dough I make out on the counter, why should the knife be any different?
I think most people today just do all these things compulsively with no real understanding of "why". On the other hand, I'd prefer someone who compulsively cleans over someone who leaves things dirty with a similar lack of understanding.
I leave fruit out. I pick vegetables from my garden and leave them out. I leave my unwashed chicken eggs out. I leave my sourdough out. My starter has never seen a fridge. I make proper hard cheese I can leave out, too. A lot of food simply doesn't need refrigeration, and some tools don't need washing every use.
As a kid, I had an argument with my sister that the knife was dirty after bread cutting and had to be washed after every use. I've since come around, my bread knife gets washed if it gets dirty by anything but bread.
6 to 8 hours before I want to make bread. You can let it go totally dormant in the jar for a week, and just dump off the worst of the hooch that will form on top, feed it, and let it rise again. To get 'perfect' rise you might want to cycle it once or twice to rejuvenate it if it's been a long time, but otherwise it's just going to take a little longer to rise up due to the high alcohol content retarding the growth a little. It's damned hard to kill once it's well established. My starter is yeeeears old at this point and seems immune to any abuse I can throw at it.
I just rinse both sides under water for a second and dry it. That applies to almost all vegetables and fruits as well. Only after cutting meat do I truly wash a knife. And if someone does not rinse the knife after cutting bread, I would not care.
Who the fuck is still filling their gullet with bread. If it's home made with good flour you get a pass. Anything on a store shelf is literally poison you idiots.

There's this thing, it's called a dishwasher and all you have to do is get up from the table and the dishes disappear.

All blades used are clean and dry after every use.
Steak knives are kept clean and oiled.
Respect your tools!

Semi-fine sandpaper and wash off with water if still rough.
I'm using cast iron and stainless about 95% of the time. (Non-stick is toxic at high heat.)
Butter, lard, bacon grease, peanut or coconut oil. (Canola is industrial lube. Corn and soy is also poison.)

I like coconut oil on high end steels and cast iron.
Anything to keep moisture(humidity) off the steel

In my household of two the bread knife gets washed. Perhaps not as regularly as the "smeared knives".
