Win7 forever.

[ - ] KosherHiveKicker 4 points 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 11:32:04 ago (+4/-0)

I run a Dual Boot option - Linux Mint, and Win 10.

[ - ] FilthyGlobalist 1 point 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 18:10:20 ago (+1/-0)

Ditto. Sadly Windows 10 end of life is later this year.

[ - ] KosherHiveKicker 0 points 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 18:40:04 ago (+0/-0)

I bet you can squeeze another 5 years out of Windows 10 after the formal end of support. Windows XP went on for almost a decade after it axed.

[ - ] Kozel [op] 2 points 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 05:19:50 ago (+4/-2)

Running an insecure OS is retarded unless its airgapped.

Thousands of exploits available its just a matter of time. Matter of fact, that time has certainly already passed and your PC is likely a botnet.

[ - ] oyveyo 10 points 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 05:36:27 ago (+10/-0)

I perform regular audits of processes and network traffic. I keep an eye on CPU and memory usage. My BIOS has been patched to disable the remote management engine. I can smell malware online. I have a plethera of non-mainstream scanners. I ghost my drive just in case.

I think I know what I'm doing.

If you're that tech savvy then use Linux.

[ - ] Lost_In_The_Thinking 9 points 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 07:53:14 ago (+10/-1)

Why? Linux is for people who like to use the most complicated method of achieving simple tasks. Linux will never be adopted by casual users (i.e., 95% of computer users) because it puts too many demands on people who just want the fucking thing to work easily.

[ - ] TheNoticing 2 points 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 09:31:15 ago (+2/-0)

Linux has a friendly user interface, it's not all using the Terminal. I used Zorin and Garuda before settling on Nobara. Nobara is made by Glorious Eggroll himself, he does some Proton builds.

[ - ] lolxd 2 points 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 10:21:37 ago (+2/-0)

Linux is actually kinda retard proofed these days if you use desktop distributions like Mint or Fedora. Arch is still as extra complicated like you complain about.

[ - ] ruck_feddit 1 point 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 10:54:46 ago (+1/-0)

Fair, but look how retarded people get over it.

[ - ] Lost_In_The_Thinking 1 point 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 11:03:06 ago (+2/-1)

And there it is: the condescending arrogance of Linux users. So, people who just want their OS to work smoothly and easily and don't want to spend an hour making something work on Linux that works without effort on Windows are retards? Sure, whatever you say. Tell me all about how easy networking on Linux is. I have wasted so many hours of my life fucking around with Samba unsuccessfully. Yes, I've looked online for solutions, and no, they never worked. I have no trouble networking five computers with Windows, though, without having to spend an excessive amount of time, jump through hoops, or configure every little setting. I fucking hate Windows, but at least I don't waste my time on stupid shit like that.

[ - ] ruck_feddit 3 points 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 11:25:50 ago (+3/-0)

No, I'm saying the opposite of what you're accusing me of, because I have used Linux for decades. There is a sharp learning curve to Linux and the people who claim it is easy or for everyone are retards.

Don't worry, I accept your apology.

[ - ] Kozel [op] 0 points 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 15:57:19 ago (+0/-0)

simple tasks are nearly identical across most operating systems

[ - ] Master_Foo -2 points 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 09:28:54 ago (+4/-6)

OK, then don't cry when you are raped by niggers.
Because you chose to be raped by niggers.

[ - ] registereduser -2 points 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 10:47:41 ago (+0/-2)

None of that has been true for over a decade.

Even a pod eating fucktard like you can use linux these days.

[ - ] ruck_feddit 2 points 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 10:59:42 ago (+2/-0)

I first installed Linux on a cyrix m in the 1990s. I've used it for different things and for work ever since. Saying the average person today could have a good experience is just a lie. Sure, they can serve the web and send emails, but beyond that it's a sharp learning curve. These are just facts and I love Linux

[ - ] Tallest_Skil 3 points 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 08:12:21 ago (+3/-0)

“I know what I’m doing so I will compromise compatibility to run something worse for my needs!”

Sounds like a bad idea.

[ - ] rabidR04CH 2 points 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 08:57:05 ago (+2/-0)

Linux works fine as long as the hardware you're using has open drivers. A laptop that is all Intel or all AMD is likely to work fine, but if you have Broadcom wireless drivers or an NVIDIA GPU, and problems arise.

[ - ] Tallest_Skil 1 point 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 09:23:26 ago (+1/-0)

I don’t even mean hardware, I mean software.

[ - ] registereduser 2 points 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 10:56:57 ago (+2/-0)*

There's nothing you can do on globohomo windoze that you can not do as well or usually better on linux.

Not surprised and inbred fuckwitted jewdeo like you can't figure that out.

There's a reason why these are the numbers....

Overall Market Share (Including All Computing Devices)

Linux (including Android and IoT devices): ~80-90%

Windows: ~5-10%

macOS + iOS: ~5-10%

[ - ] Tallest_Skil 2 points 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 13:18:20 ago (+2/-0)

Thanks for confirming that what I said is correct. You really shouldn’t have let your personal autism get in the way of reality. You’re physically incapable of swapping windows and Linux 1:1 in a personal or office environment, which is why people don’t use it. If you had any knowledge of the subject whatsoever, or even a basic understanding of economics, you’d comprehend the stranglehold Microsoft has on the APIs and businesses in the industry.

The only thing that was really tying me to windblows was Fusion360 and zbrush for personal use. Blender is plenty now and I got completely up to snuff for CAD on both FreeCAD and onshape.com.

For personal usage I can't go back to Windows, I still have a hard drive on my system I load windows for making software for windows, but other than that I don't use it any longer.

So, to install blender on Linux you can do a normie install through the software download manager in Linux that gives the most updated version most of the time for most software available on linux with one simple click.

A lot of other software are incredibly easy to install in the terminal and becomes the preferred method. sudo apt-get install blender and hit enter and it installs an older "stable" version, but at this point its just old. But you can do that with 1,000's of piece of software. Sudo(admin) apt-get(get needed packages) install blender. It's not rocket science.

I'm sorry you're retarded personally.

But you are correct on corporate level, there's a modern conspiracy about software as a service monthly charge on corporate and govt level and that's all on Microsoft. Gates is hell spawn

[ - ] Kozel [op] 0 points 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 15:58:36 ago (+0/-0)

graphic design and video editing software is superior on windows

[ - ] registered_bot 0 points 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 16:42:54 ago (+0/-0)

Davinci Resolve is on linux and Kdenlive is pretty decent as well. There's gimp(photoshop) rawtherapee(lightroom) blender(swiss army knife) and others.

Most of the time people are tied to windows for sharing progress on projects because most of them use windows. For personal use windows and everything it does is disgusting, and I don't like being fucked with by my computer.

I made the switch to full time on Linux a couple years ago, it was uncomfortable at first, but after finding my theme and desktop gui I liked I can't go back to windows. I have made Linux into my dream experience with computing. Windows is like a gulag at this point.

But do you check everything what your woman and children do?

[ - ] Razzoriel 1 point 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 09:40:34 ago (+2/-1)

Hackers dont make attempts at outdated machines. They always seek for the biggest marketshare. The more Microsoft closes their OS, the more hackers will focus on them because its where the lemmings will flock to.

[ - ] lolxd 2 points 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 10:23:39 ago (+2/-0)

Security through obscurity is a actually a thing.

[ - ] BrokenVoat 0 points 2 monthsMar 30, 2025 14:53:26 ago (+0/-0)

Never gonna happen. I installed win11 from usb on a machine without working ethernet drivers
. Linux was a lot easier to install. Had to use mystery buton comobos and console commands to boot to safe mode to install the drivers.

[ - ] Leveraction 1 point 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 12:41:08 ago (+1/-0)

I have an old msn email acct. Ever since microsoft took over, it is an absolute piece of shit. The more i give them feedback on their shitty operating system, the more they keep fucking with my acct. Assholes!

[ - ] shitface9000 1 point 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 12:40:57 ago (+1/-0)

The workaround is really simple apparently

[ - ] registereduser 1 point 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 10:44:36 ago (+1/-0)

No one cares. This only affects inbred fuckwits who should die anyway.

[ - ] Master_Foo 1 point 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 09:27:13 ago (+3/-2)

imagine being such a faggot that you didn't install Linux decades ago.

[ - ] Doglegwarrior 0 points 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 20:15:28 ago (+0/-0)

Shit pisses me off.. I won't go to the apple cult I think eventually I will be forced to upgrade or lose my old as shit Hotmail account old word documents etc.. don't feel like leaning an alternate system.

Windows users demonstrate time and again that they like a little anal reaming every once in a while.

linux time

[ - ] TheNoticing -1 points 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 09:28:31 ago (+1/-2)

Well it's a good thing I use Linux.

[ - ] PostWallHelena -1 points 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 09:03:18 ago (+0/-1)

Unless there is no internet connection available. I think that is the workaround.

[ - ] KosherHiveKicker 1 point 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 11:31:22 ago (+1/-0)

I've done that on multiple PC's with Win 10 and up. Just disable/unplug the wi-fi / ethernet and install.

Normally an option to skip the online requirements will be presented, or the installer will time out looking for the internet connect and just skip it automatically.

[ - ] registered_bot 1 point 2 monthsMar 29, 2025 16:31:30 ago (+1/-0)

Yep, install it without being plugged in, customize your settings and then plug it in, now you have a customized free version of windows 10
