They should make them out of styrofoam so you don't need such a big battery. A basic car to run to the store or bank. A new one would go for about 900 bucks and last a year or two. Your insurance would probably be pretty expensive, tho.
I've seen a couple electric bike cars on jewtube, and while these are small and enclosed like cars, the cost is still $10-20k. Yet an electric bike with the same power and range costs $1k. Very odd.

Every pound of extra weight reduces the efficiency of the motor, for every reduction in efficiency the power demands of the battery exponentially increases. When you begin to compensate range with more battery you add alot of weight quickly because the fucking batteries in the stupid EV cars makes up 80% of the entire thing.
$10k is still a bit much, even for that. I've seen a few builds on jewtube that're 4-wheeled and much better than that for far cheaper. Small enough for you to take it in the elevator, covered so you can use it in the weather, and decent enough to go shopping with. Not a kid-carrier, though I could see trailers made for that.
There's those big cargo-ebikes that can have a couple of kids in them, but they're also expensive as fuck. It's a demand that isn't being properly met yet. The company that does a good job of it for cheap will pull massive bank.
Mine's 70lbs. Of course I made it myself from a high-end mountain bike, a motor, and a huge battery. And by the simple dint of not being fat it goes more than far enough, fast enough, for me to use it all summer.
An EV is just too big for the current battery tech we have.
I doubt anybody is disputing the fact that electric cars are heavy. But there is no need to exaggerate so much either.
The commercial drones use lithium batteries and people have fun with them, same with the RC cars, etc - but those only last on the scale of minutes. Use case matters, and most EV users would like some range, and that requires the heavy battery, but many EV users are ok with that too for their needs.
In many places where people travel long distances, such as the US, I would guess many people end up with an EV for short trips, but then an ICE vehicle for the long trips.
That reminds of the movie “No Cunt Tree for Old Men.” I never understood the title. I mean this crazy guy with a weird haircut is killing everyone, but they title it something about an old guy and his cunt tree. I tried to plant a cunt tree, but surprisingly nothing ever came of it. Didn’t even get one seedling let alone a pussy out of it.

god you are a fucking moron.
First off, and MOST IMPORTANT: CO2 IS NOT A POISON, DUMBFUCK
Secondly, EVs use MORE energy and POLLUTE MORE. From their brakes, to their tires, to the shitty batteries that literally get buried once they're done, to the coal they use to power their motion, to how electricity is a far far less efficient method of storing energy and moving objects, EVs are FAR worse for the environment.
Personally, I'd limit engine size for myself for a number of reasons. But if someone wants to go out and buy a 5l f150 to drive to the store, I don't give a fuck. Let them
True. But electric cars are at least somewhat more resource intensive to build. Im fine with that if the long term impact is lower but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
I have no problem with electric cars. Their design will probably improve alot in the next decade or so. Its another consumer option, who doesn’t like options?
It was never the holy grail of clean energy that lefties tried to claim it was. And I find it suspicious that liberals have abandon the electric car cause en masse because “Elon muh nazi”. If electric cars really are good for the planet, liberals should support buying teslas regardless of how shitty they think the CEO is. It makes the green movement look petty and insincere about their CORE GOALS.
Tesla is 50% of the manufacturing capacity in this market. And its at least half of the EVs on the road. But you want to trash all that. Does that seem sustainable? Or wasteful? Its all about priorities and leftists have shown they care more about witch hunts than sustainability.

It only has 3 wheels and won't ever be classified as a car for safety certificates.

WEIGHT MATTERS AND EXPONENTIALLY INCREASES BECAUSE THE BATTERY IS MADE OF FUCKING HEAVY METAL.
And no, I don't want to buy one.

Teslas weigh 6000lbs at most, and the cybertruck under 7000lbs.
