Nice. Keep eating like this and you’ll be as fit as a Viking!
I started a red meat and salt only diet. I was already eating a very clean ketogenic diet but holy shit, I went through withdrawal on just steak. It’s crazy because my appetite is pretty much non-existent. Will likely make a post about it soon.
I've been for maybe 8 or 9 weeks now, maybe 10? Meat, mostly beef, and eggs. I'm never hungry, I poop something the size of a baby carrot everyday, and I went from 195 to 170lbs.
I think he means salt as in making sure his electrolytes don't get low. Hopefully he's not just eating fucking salt like a retard. He probably heard Jordan Peterson say he puts a little salt in his water while eating carnivore.
IDK what you two are trying to accomplish with it, but if you have any questions, let me know.
I hurt my back a while ago. Babying it and seeing the chiropractor didn't stop me from throwing it out. Pull-ups and dropping some weight was the final solution.
Wife wants to drop a few pounds and feel better. I want to drop a few pounds, however, I love muh vegetables. I already eat very little grain. I don’t know. I’m afraid of getting all backed up on all meat.
Weird I made a reply but it didn't go. I've never been backed up. A couple of my friends said they had diarrhea the first week. I never experienced that either.
I bet you will go through withdrawal. Like I said, I thought I was good, but I don’t really lose weight on keto. Carnivore though, I feel way different. Wake up clear-headed. Sleep great. Never have any bad days. No anxiety or sadness. (Other than the first few days)
It’s basically an elimination diet. You essentially remove EVERY possible allergy from your diet and start on just red meat and electrolytes. Then, after a while, introduce one new food at a time and give yourself a few days to see how you feel.
I lost 7 pounds in two days but I assume that was water weight. Which makes no sense since I was already on a ketogenic diet. Oh well.
The kidneys are efficient at excreting excess salt. That said. Salt everything to your preference and be sure to get electrolytes. I start my day with 3000mg of ancient Utah sea salt in some water. I also take 1000mg of magnesium daily. Magnesium glycinate with my meal. And magnesium citrate at my bed side.
Our bodies tell us when we desire salt just like we thirst for water. Interestingly, the kidneys have a difficult time reabsorbinb salt which damages them over time. So it is healthier to over consume salt than to under consume.
I would compare the withdrawal to quitting cigarettes. I was just joyless for a good 24 hours. Part of the “keto flu”. If you ever have a headache: salt tablet. Just like when we used to play sports before Gatorade came along.
I’ve found I cannot lose weight on dairy. I enjoy heavy whipping cream in my coffee and actually gain weight over time. Dairy is inflammatory and cheese will often stall weight loss for a carnivore.
You won’t get backed up. You’ll likely get some painless squirts the first few days. But you will quickly learn that fiber is a myth and you’ll have the easiest poops ever on carnivore. If you are constipated, eat more fat. Oils will make it through the intestines if eaten in sufficient quantities.
My only real concern when it comes to safety is electrolytes. This diet dumps electrolytes like crazy and, like our ancestors, you’ll learn how valuable salt is. You’re a Viking after all: Your people literally hung salted fish up to dry in the sun to make jerky. Historically, Scandinavians ingested a lot of salt. I learned this from a book on salt.
Medium on lamb is basically well done. If you've never had rare seared lamb with mint, you ought to try it. Personally, medium is way overcooked for any red meat. I'm the kind of person that'll carve off a little morsel while I'm prepping it and eat it raw. Shit's good, and it's good for you. It's gotta be good quality though.
