When I'm thinking of buying something I'll do 2 things now.

1: Check their website to see if diversity are plastered all over it. If it is, it's a no.

2: If 1 is a no, I call customer service a few times to see if some Indian answers. If an Indian answers I immediately hang up. I will then not purchase an item from said company.


It's a great way to save money.

Yeah, having over seas support should be taxed to oblivion. Undersea cables need to be cut, we literally don't need to have any communication with outside countries at all.

I've always considered the "Press for English" meme in the same class of stranded on a dessert island, quicksand emergency or other Far Side comic-esque scenarios, in that it doesn't feel like a real everyday problem.

It's begun to occur to me that the people who always complain about this probably actually do spend inordinate amounts of time calling for help with basic things. Essentially boomers with computer problems that they cannot solve themselves.
