You sound like my hideous mother (dec'd). She resented me because I have a relaxed and comfortable child-free lifestyle. She resented anyone who had a better life than her. She was fond of saying that people who didn't have kids tended to be selfish but any sacrifice she made for her kids was made grudgingly. Not long before she died she said to me: "no-one asked me if I wanted children". What I really hated about her was that instead of warning people e.g. her own kids, of the pitfalls of breeding, she encouraged them because it undoubtedly made her feel good to see them experiencing the soul-destroying enslavement she did.
