Hello and welcome to our Christmas Special Friday Night Guitar Thread! This is something we've done pretty much since our first Christmas, where I shared a pieace called Greensleeves. It's usually a time where I pull out the stops (yay, an organ reference) but I really didn't have much time this year - though I do have a surprise for later in the thread...

So, instead, I sat down and did some classical guitar for you - all of which are Christmas songs. I'm not a Christian or anything like that, but I do love Christmas carols! I decided on a few and sat down to a recording session. You can enjoy the results here:

This is probably my favorite thread of the year. If I'm on top of my game, I start getting ready for the next year right after this year's thread is completed.

Last, but certainly not least, is a track from the missus. That's right, she recorded this just for you miscreants! She did an excellent job and it really shows how diligent she's practiced over these (now) many years.

I think she did quite nicely. That's how the song is supposed to be played, so I guess that's nice. She can play all sorts of things like they're supposed to be played. That's kind of the point, actually.

This one was yet another TSO cover... You can see why we didn't keep doing them. We'd done a bunch of their best stuff and it takes a buttload of effort to create tracks like this. It also takes more than me. I don't play all those instruments!

TSO is really adept at making solid arrangements. They also put on a hell of a show.

As for the Fifth, it's one of those songs I can play on pretty much any instrument I touch - given a few minutes to play around with it and figure it out.

it is nicely playable, I been having fun with it. Chris and I got hired to play at a birthday party in January acoustic so we are going to work out some songs with me playing bass and some songs with me playing lead, should be fun. He is out of town till after the new year.
