It’s nice when science is pure. Like discovering new ways to bring humanity to its knees through things like biological warfare or flying murder robots. It’s just so wholesome seeing people who truly care about their craft.

Scientific method

Few practice this anyway. Most are in a perpetual affirmation harvesting session and can't take a moment off to discern anything.

Here is the major issue. The scientific method is rooted in REJECTION and has now path to affirmation/confirmation unless you have complete control of the entire system. Few systems are like that, so people essentially dig into a bag for dice an infinite amount of times but only remember the good rolls.
