It's probably better if Russia doesn't nuke a US city like New York or D.C., regretfully. They should supply hypersonic missiles to other countries the US is attacking instead. Take out an aircraft carrier in the middle east. Hit US bases in eastern Europe and Syria. Assassinate NATO country leaders.

Trump could take a plea deal with Russia in January and look like the hero that saved us.
