Victoria finally, finally lifts covid vax mandates for health care workers

On 4 October 2024, Secretary Directions mandating COVID-19 vaccination for healthcare workers were revoked.
Victorian healthcare workers are now strongly recommended to remain up to date with their COVID-19 vaccinations as per Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) advice and the Australian Immunisation Handbook.
The decision to revoke the COVID-19 vaccine Secretary Directions, and replace them with a strong recommendation to remain up to date, reflects the evolving COVID-19 epidemiologic situation in Victoria, emerging evidence on the burden of COVID-19 disease and advice and guidance from ATAGI on COVID-19 vaccination.

Been spending a bit of time at Peter McCallum recently. Hardly anyone was wearing masks - even doctors and nurses.

The main exceptions were the Admin staff at the reception desks!

American health workers ARE STILL MANDATED to take the jab. It's a fucking travesty.

I listened to the whole Supreme court case that caused this: your DEM SC' Justices used the FBI/CIA stories they had fabricated themselves to justify it.

What kills me is fifteen minutes of research would show the BS: but apparently you can't contest anything they say.. It's a fucked up system once you get some Dirty judges in there.

That must be regional. I just re-entered healthcare employment a few months back and wasn't even asked about covid. They used to want everyone to get flu shot but I just never responded to it and no one ever followed up. Might be different in different clinical settings.

i thought the covids was DEADLIER than the flu, and it was CRITICAL to get the jungle juice?

still got a few clinics up this way that are forcing masks but im willing to bet the majority that dont are doing it purely because they were losing money to clinics who werent forcing that shit. personally i havent been anywhere near a clinic for myself for half a decade anyway, been in most of the hospitals around here for work, absolutely no one wearing masks at all. signs saying to wear them if youve got the sniffles still up... which is actually f'ing reasonable and always was - sick people coughing and spitting shit up wears the protection, so that healthy people dont get sick... not the other f'ing way around. THAT IS HOW A SURGICAL MASK WORKS

still doesnt stop the virus, but it stops mcsneezy firing massive blasts from their nose cannon in your direction and THAT assists to stop a virus GETTING THROUGH THE MASK because youve just oversaturated the pores with a damn liquid, if its relatively dry, youre only breathing shit out, the bacteria stays, the virus gets through, unless youre half an inch from someones face or getting down with them, youre not fucking getting any fucking corona or rhinoviruses from them. thats fucking science. same with spitting, its horrible, but unless you go bend down and suck that spit up the second it hits the floor, or its hit an open wound/opening on the body, its not doing shit to you but making you retch.

My local GP still insists on masks (or the admin staff... again.)

No one at the Australian Skin Clinic wore masks though.

It's all so idiotic and now it has been revoked.... we went through all THAT SHIT... for what...?!?!?
