The thought occurred to me that real estate agents and financial brokers get 2% to 6% of the value of the property that they transfer and they don't even take possession of it.
If longshoreman and truckers got the same percentage for the merchandise that transfers through them they'd all be getting a million dollars a year
I am disappointed that Biden and Harris won't face full retaliation for the total meltdown of the economy that would have occurred should be strike have continued for 3 weeks
The proper response is how can I get together with all the other people I work with and hold out for a lot more money to actually try to match the real inflation that's happened over the past 10 years.
Use your mind and body to generate your own way in the world, rather than selling their use to help someone else succeed. (meaning, stop settling for being an employee)
Makes me chuckle out everybody here loves to talk about capitalism but when a bunch of workers get together to fairly negotiate what the market will bear for their services suddenly everyone becomes a totalitarian and crab bucket theory takes over
NOW THATS HOW YOU GET IT DONE!!! YOU MILLENNIAL FAGGOTS LIKE TO TALK SHIT ABOUT US BOOMERS BUT WE ARE THE ONES KEEPING THIS GREAT NATION OF OURS GOING!!! FUCK YOU!!!
Thought 1: The member groups of these maritime associations just saw a 62% increase in their wage costs. That just means everything is going to get more expensive to ship, and that just means everything is going to be more expensive at the store.
Thought 2: Congratulations, you just increased the incentives for members of these employer groups to automate as quickly as they can. I'm actually not very confident these negotiations are going to hold up, and more than likely, they'll just get fucked by the next administration. Kicking the can down the road.
Thought 3: I don't know what the answer is to this problem, but a lot of people have to realize that unionizing isn't a long-term solution for the fact that a lot of these jobs are going to be done by robots in the future. Kicking the can down the road.
Fatmericans have to be the dumbest cocksuckers on the planet. Worried about wiping their asses more than stuffing their fat retarded gullets with more processed shit-food. Why the fuck would you need more toilet paper than food? Something happens and the first thing these fat stupid faggots think about is having to wipe their asses. God damn what a bunch of worthless breathers.
The International Longshoremen’s Association said it had agreed to extend the contract until Jan. 15 and work will resume.
That 62% is just a carrot to get the union to stop striking during election season. It's a sweet deal for the workers pay wise, but they had other concerns over automation that this doesn't address. They'll never negotiate that much of a raise and also have assurance most of their jobs won't be automated away. The shipping companies can effectively run out the clock with the union by letting these talks fail in January, then having the new President cancel the next strike. That means no raise or assurances.
Those automated container handling robots look pretty efficient, and they tend not to be surly or aggressive. They also don't just stop and refuse to do the needful. Did you watch that video of the union president saying he has the power to fuck everybody if his demands aren't met, and he will if they aren't?
I'd replace a fuckwad like that with a machine first thing.
Agreed on their position. They've essentially accepted the 62% as their cash grab on the way out. Really is just extra encouragement to the companies to replace them ASAP.
What a crotchety old shithead. He certainly wasn't doing their image any favors. I'd be surprised if he didn't retire in the next couple months, take whatever bribe he got and leave his successor to fail with the doomed negotiations next year. He's letting the only window of time pass where their protest wouldn't get shut down.
He lives "the world is my oyster life" while threatening gridlock. What he has done has cost all us poors, and poor being relative, much more of our resources to be able to live half as well as we had been living. He might not be as bad as the jew, but he is taking full advantage of both crony capitalism and union communism.

Even a lot of normally pro union people saw their strike and demands as pure greed.

Fuckwad didn't pay attention to "Fight for $15" and the shift to kiosks and apps.
Guess what: robots never need a raise...keep making the human expense higher so the cost to robotics isn't as bad.
