Anyone know about private schools?

submitted by MaryXmas to Fatherhood 7 monthsSep 15, 2024 19:19:01 ago (+7/-0)     (Fatherhood)

I don't know what to think about them. Are they worth the tuition? I went to public school and it was fine for me but maybe there are benefits I don't know about. I know, this is exactly the private school crowd but maybe some of you have had experience.

One thing about private schools is they attract a better class of kids. The parents care enough and are wealthy enough to fork over the extra dough. So drug issues and thuggery are less of a problem there.

Also I went to private school and we moved and I didn't have that option anymore. I was about a year or more above my grade level and didn't fit in academically until TAG and later honors/AP classes. You learn much more when your teacher isn't overwhelmed with disciplining a bunch of slackers.

What is your motivation for private school? I worked in that field and now my children attend private school. As a worker, I quickly realized that the public schools were fucked because they were stuck with the bad kids (nigs and spics). The teacher's hands were tied and administration had no balls so the disruptive kids ran the show. Any poor child who was interested in learning was held captive by them. However public charter schools were much more pleasant because one had a performance threshold minimum and the other could expel if anyone acted up.

If you're looking for a private school because of your faith, that's tricky because other families have their kids there because the local public schools suck. So you don't know who your kids are going to school with. One ~6 year old boy told me his favorite movie was It, meanwhile mine hasn't seen Nightmare before Christmas because I don't want him watching Santa get tortured. I know other families that homeschool for this very reason but that's just not possible for us right now. We switched schools and I think the best way to avoid that kind of thing is to lurk during school drop off/pick-up and see what kind of people are sending their kids there.

Research one you’re interested in. Spend the money to get a good education from your kids. Don’t let the government schools brainwash your kids. 40 years ago public schools were good, not so much now, they’ve gotten worse and worse since the last 20 years or so

See if you can find a "co-op" or "hybrid" school that features school days and homeschool days. I don't know what kind of pozzed curricula are out there, but you're more likely to find Abeka, Bob Jones, or Pearson (math) at those types of schools. They may be religious schools, but bad company corrupts good morals, and the worldview in public schools is going to be jewy.

I went to a Jesuit college prep. Great education on learning on how to reason. They do push the limits on Christian thought, but admissions are merit based, very few nogs, well under quota.

I can tell you based upon the education I received going to private it was in so many ways superior to what was taught in the public school system for me there was no question. If you can afford the tuition it will make every difference in the world. Now keep in mind my undergrad was years ago when public schools weren't the cesspool to the degree they are today however the principal remains the same...FOR THE MOST PART. The teachers are paid enough to care in private. The class sizes are much much smaller than public. Do your homework. Find a private school with an entrance exam. If the school will admit anyone who has the money then what are you getting you won't in public. You want your child's school to want the best students. You want your child to be challenged by his peers. These are genuinely the future doctors and lawyers and politicians and I'm assuming that's what you want for your child...the best you can get for him/her and that's rarely the easiest.

I went to a catholic school in the Chicagoland area and it was a mixed bag. Great for morale and a positive environment but lacked in education. My friend currently teaches at a catholic school. He taught 22 years in public school but left because there is zero discipline now in public schools. Catholic schools still have detention and he says the bad students in catholic school are laughable compared to the future convicts in public school. He would spend 1/3 of a class yelling at students and correcting behavior and spends zero time doing this at a catholic school. Plus they don't let any fag books near the kids.

I am less worried about a good education and more worried about bad influences. Thanks for this.

There is increasing wokeness in catholic schools. Most of the archdiocese are controlled by woke pricks, homos, etc.

It's best to be around smart healthy kids - (not work-hard nerds)

So private school has better quality kids and education, generally. You can have a Christmas tree. The curriculum is generally one year ahead.

Overly religious schools aren't good, because they don't care about merit, but they do provide connections.

If there is a gifted only public, that's better the basic private, there are more kids.

For older kids private is about making connections to other wealthy people.

You don't have weirdos in private, or violent kids.

Show up at a private school unannounced and ask for a tour - pick a reasonable time. If they say no, the quality is suspect.

My son went to a couple private schools before finishing the last few years in public school. Some public schools are okay, but usually not, especially if there are any niggers in your area.

The quality and costs of private schools can vary a lot. Do your research.

No experience, but a friend of mine just enrolled his boy in one and he asked them straigup if they do any of the woke, fag flag shit.

[ - ] PostWallHelena 1 point 7 monthsSep 16, 2024 07:52:47 ago (+1/-0)

What was the answer? Was this an independent school? Did they have a religious affiliation?

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey 1 point 7 monthsSep 16, 2024 11:19:11 ago (+1/-0)

They said ‘no’, and it’s a church based school.

Sometimes the private schools are more woke than the public ones.

[ - ] SumerBreeze 1 point 7 monthsSep 15, 2024 20:03:37 ago (+1/-0)

This. Whatever school you choose you better know at least a dozen different parents who will send their kids to the same school.

[ - ] MaryXmas [op] 0 points 7 monthsSep 16, 2024 00:32:45 ago (+0/-0)

There are very few woke people in my area. Not concerned with that.

[ - ] PostWallHelena 0 points 7 monthsSep 16, 2024 07:51:41 ago (+0/-0)

Thats very lucky. But realize that school administrators and teachers are a particularly woke breed. And if they belong to a larger org like the catholic church they will have their materials determined by a woke national bureacracy.

Today's public schools aren't the schools you went to.

Private schools need to be looked into before giving them your money.
