I do too. It’s a bad habit but it’s so damn delicious. Wake up in the middle of the night and chug milk. Have two or 3 glasses before bed. Sometimes I like to buy chocolate milk and I’ll
Mix it with regular milk bout a 1/3 chocolate 2/3 regular milk and it becomes this slightly sweet milk. It’s so good. Plus it keeps that regular milk texture vs that chocolate milk texture which sucks.

It's not worth the trouble. In the 70s, powdered milk was available as a low-cost way of providing milk to the family. The most popular brand was made by Carnation. My mother had three growing teenagers then, and insisted we mix powdered milk 50% with whole milk. Powdered milk tastes like crap, and this tasted like crappy diluted milk. We were all happy when my mom said we didn't have to do that any longer.

How can the process of harvesting the milk,bring it to he facory, turn it into powder, pack it and ship it to the store be cheaper than just getting the milk

Probably because of what they remove and the kind of "milk" it is when it's powdered. They remove all of the butterfat, which is where the sugars and flavor are located and replace it with something that will store longer. That has value elsewhere and is used in other foods. This lowers the actual value of the powdered milk, and as dry milk, it has a much longer shelf life.
