Kinda stupid and unrelated, but I wound up in a massive table-top war game. They had war game level hills with trees and things. Because I was brand new, I was assigned a tiny light cavalry unit. To determine outcomes during engagements, competing players rolled two six-sided die, higher the better. I somehow kept rolling 10s, 11s, and 12s. I routed most of the board with my shit cavalry. Weeeeee!

The German Wehrmacht of WW2 was the second military force in history to penetrate as deeply into ethnic Russian territory as it did in its fight against the red army of the Soviet Union. As far as history can show, only one other foreign military power has penetrated deeper then that.
