I'm one of those sick people who visits WatchPeopleDie...when drownings happen, they flail, but towards the end while disoriented but not dead, they'll try to use a limb or two, which ends up looking like "circles".

Anybody on the Mediterranean coast with a boat should be doing this daily.

For the cost of a cheap nylon rope ladder, you can get rid of what, a hundred or so per iteration? A bargain at twice the price.

First you dangle the ladder as bait to draw them in close. Then shoot a few holes in the boat's flotation cells. Then cut the ladder and motor away to just out of swimming distance.

Light a cigar, pour a few fingers of single malt, sit back, relax and enjoy the show.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

(An additional thought occurs: It would also have the advantage of baiting out any lurking jews in the area who may be tempted to butt in and spoil things. Just move up alongside, as if coming to "help", and then they go into the water too. Easy-peasy. In for a penny, in for a pound.)

It's too complicated, just have a speed boat and shoot their boats. You don't even need a gun, just a spear gun, sharp stick or a bow and arrow.
