Agreed on the yankee 'accent'. That's not English either. I had cousins in Georgia that I couldn't understand as a kid, because they couldn't speak legitimate English.

Spent a lot of my kid years in south central Pennsylvania in that horrific accent region 😱, and had to be very conscious of my enunciation to avoid being corrupted too.

The ones in the deep south still retain their french, etc accent so its legit. I watched a linguist one time explain it all and I have never been able to find that video again. It ws brilliant. It even had graphics showing how everyone's tongue works differently in diff accents. Even they said the yankee accents, like NY and Michigan made no sense.

White people should care about the qualities of people claiming to be White. Being unable to speak legitimate English, when it's your primary communication protocol, is a huge negative indicator. Maybe still whitish, but in the lowest percentiles of White people.
