Loved having Hog support. Those guys flew around with their fangs spring-loaded to the open and locked position. Had aprox. twice the loiter time of any other platform. When fast movers came on station they had to "one pass, and haul ass". The Hogs were just getting warmed up.
And they just flat scared the mortal shit out of hajji. Our voice intercept attachments would start laughing because of all the panicked ooga-booga chatter that came over the hajji hand-helds when the A-10's came on station. Most of it translated as variations on "RUN! HIDE!"
I still can't believe they are forcing the MOST effective close-air support platform into retirement... all so they can pump up fake demand the paper-tiger known as the F-35.
