Likely a remnant of when it was still hot from the collision. Remember it has no atmosphere, nor seismic activity(of any note), therefore nothing is wearing down features other than impacts. Which don't often com in from Earth's direction, for obvious reasons.

That makes sense, even if it used to have a molten core. Not sure how much of a shading effect the earth would have, with random incoming rocks that miss earth still having 'some' probability of being gravitationally redirected to a moon impact.
Apologies for the reddit link, but that's the only relevant result. Interesting point about the Earth being a basketball and the Moon being a tennis ball about 25 feet away.

In the fake landing video, the retro rockets didn't kick up a shit load of dust as it landed. Just like in our earlie3r moon landings.
When NASA hires me, I'll tell them to make the screen go crazy with kicked up dust for half an hour. The lunar lander should end up in a minor crater from all the blasted away surface material. That'll make it look real for the people who didn't see the original 1969 fake landing.

For the same reason we have oceanic tides, wouldn't moon lava be attracted to the earth?

Also, reddit blocks my VPN a lot and I'm not making an account.
