Accidentally burned a bridge yesterday.

Not literally of course, there's very few wooden bridges these days. I was pissed at the owner of the place I worked at, and I accidentally sent a text I shouldn't have.

Let me unpack this a bit. So I got a text with this week's schedule. She's been starving me out there for a couple weeks and I only had two days. I accidentally told her to shove those two days up her ass. That's how I really felt, but I didn't mean to send that text. I'm a little neurotic, so sometimes I'll write out a text with what I want to say but then think better of it and delete it. Maybe I shouldn't do that, or maybe I should just say what I want. I dunno. I have another job, so it's fine sort of. It was good money though, and it was off the books.

I'm feeling pretty angry about the whole situation though, and I couldn't sleep last night. Kinda need every dollar I can make right now. It is what it is.

People will ask and ask and ask, if you can do anything useful. Saying no is as important as saying yes. I usually say no. Simply put, the majority of efforts are by definition not worth my time since the best jobs pay more.

Similarly, when I hire people (to do stuff; I'm no one's boss), I want to be in their 10% best customers. Then they come and do a good job. Short of someone literally being my employee, that's what I can do.

I stopped giving a fuck entirely about a few years ago. I have never felt so free. I tell people exactly what is on my mind now, no censoring myself.

You would think this would cause me problems, but the opposite is true. No matter how rude or foul my language, everyone seems to find me endearing.

You're right. I'm still pissed. I'm not sure what I'm pissed about, probably myself even though I might have done myself a favor. I have strong work ethic so I'm sure it'll be fine. Just gotta tighten the belt for a few days.

That's probably one of those accidentally on purpose things where subconsciously you know what you should do. Start looking for better paid opportunities. Maybe something with direct customer billing.

It's really a complicated work environment, and I'm really not sorry. There's no accountability there, so people that do the bare minimum and/or show up drunk basically get rewarded for bad behavior. Meanwhile, the people that work their sobor ass off get the fuckin shaft.

I have another job making cabinets, but fuck man with the price of groceries, gas, and rent going through the fuckin roof it's not enough. I'll figure it out.
